  1. has anyone already ordered pins for Pyrate Weekend??? if not, i'm willing to. it would be much cheaper to buy the a few 10 packs than spending $2 for each pin. let me know.

I'm definitely in. I don't want to speak for them, but I am sure Rummy Gal, Blender Wench, Crimson Cosair and probably Duncan would be interested. Maybe send a PM?

  2. yeah, thats sounds like an Idea for me. I thinkI'll turn my persona bio into a short story and yall can tell me what ya think. I've never written anything even semi-historical so this should be fun:-)

Can't wait to read it! I am sure it will be great!

    :P

  3. I have relatives in all of St. Augustine which is northern FL. This is the latest from me pap:

"Listened to the news this morning and the hurricane has been downgraded to a category 3 vice 4, as before, and has slowed down to about 9 miles per hour. It is not projected to hit southern Florida until tomorrow afternoon - this is a change from the previous estimate."

All my prayers to everyone in FL.

I know this is late in the week, but I wanted to get the alert out before this weekend.

It appears the outdated skill of "cut purse" has been revived at MD faire. Last weekend Jon, one of the rose sellers, had his pouch cut off his belt. (Before anyone skoffs too much, the pouch was recovered later and examined. The stings were cut, not frayed or untied)

Here are the details, as much as we could piece together:

We believe it happened somewhere between Blessed Scents and The Soap and Wax Candle booth, 4:45pm - 5pm. About 10 minutes later he went to make change for a customer and the pouch was gone. It was a simple deep pouch secured by one tie to the belt and one tie closing the bag. He retraced his steps and alerted a bunch of boothies to be on the look out for it.

At the end of the day, the puch was found empty next to a trash can by the front gate. *They took $270.00, his reciepts, business cards, and one Dirty Sock (don't ask)

Jon asked me to post this to the community at large, so it doesn't happen to anyone else. (copy at will)

As far as practicle suggestions: When this was a common problem wire or jewlery chain was used instea of/or wrapped around the strings. Thick leather cording and at least 2 ties would also help.

  5. Looks like I Will be able to make it down there on the 25th. Now, I don't know where the white hart tavern is, but I reckon I'll find it. If all else fails, I'll follow the trail of lipstick festooned rogues (and other things).

Aye, it will be good t' see everyone again!!
