  1. Arrr! We're a bit overdue, but we have finally ironed out all the details (and used extra starch!) and we are happy to give to ye details of MDRF Invasion Weekend!

MDRF Invasion Weekend is the weekend of Saturday September 22 and Sunday 23. This be on Adventurer's Weekend, formerly known as Pirate Weekend.

    Hotel:

Invasion Quarters will be at the Hampton Inn @ Glen Burnie.

Yer scurvy crew has captured 10 rooms from Friday 21st - Monday 24th. We fought, we pillaged and we got a rate of @ $109.00 - as opposed to the landlubber rate of $139.00.

When calling 1-410-761-7666 ask for Wenches Anna or Marianne (excepting don't tell them I told ye they were) and give the name Maryland Renaissance Faire Invasion. The agreement was booked under Shelley Wallace, in case they need further clarification.

In case ye don't have land legs - directions are below to faire from the quarters:

    Dinner:

Ye'll be eating yer meal this year at Fuddruckers. Meet at 8:00 PM Saturday 22nd. We have our own galley, so as to have none of the landlubbers stealing our booty!

    Fuddruckers – 175 Jennifer Road – 410-266-8030

We'll stagger and crawl and if you need help getting there, follow the link below:

Invasion Photo - Go On the Account!

Ye'll meet our Official Photographer Vyxen at 11:00 on Saturday at the Jury Rig stage or sharkbait ye'll be! Ye'll stagger and crawl and X marks the spot. Ye'll be gettin' yer photo taken at 11:15 sharp.

    Meet & Greet Saturday:

Ye'll meet our fine wenches, buccaneers, lads, lassies and privateers at the Dragon Inn after ye parody of yerself in color from 11:30-12:30. Ye'll meet at the Dragon for grog, hugs, kisses, plundering, pillaging, capturing, hornswaggling, going on the account, what have ye!

    Scavenger Hunt:

Get yer land legs ready, clear your head and get to searching for the booty! Yer illustrious Madame Lillye along with her scurvy sidekicks, Madam Macaw, Kyrsalynn and Mistress Shelley will be hosting yer scavenger hunt. Ye'll search, ye'll eye, ye'll beg, borrow and steal and ye'll get an answer to yer question, if ye have the right mate! Ye'll get yer letter of marquee at the Dragon Inn during the Meet & Greet. If ye want to come aboard, ye'll need to let Madam Macaw know before ye play and ye'll need to sign on at madammacaw(at)gmail(dot)com. Madam Macaw will need to know if yer participating by Friday, September 21. If ye don't sign up, we'll have a few spots open to the first one's of ye who get to us! We'll tell ye who pillaged and won at the Meet & Greet on Sunday - when ye'll be awarded yer booty. 2nd and 3rd place, ye'll get yer trinket! The likes of the rest of ye will rest in Davy Jones Locker...

    Meet & Greet Sunday:

Ye'll drag yer tired arse on board at the Dragon Inn on Sunday from 11-12. Ye'll get yer grog and some fine kinship too! And ye might get yer booty if ye won the scavenger hunt!

    Yer MDRF Invasion Cruise Directors-

    Mistress Shelley

    Madam Macaw

    Kyrsalynn

    Madame Lillye

  2. That's sounds like a grand 'ole time. I heard about it from a friend at Wicked in Jersey. Unfortunately, we won't be able to go that weekend. I would love to see it happen again 2008.

  3. I posted this elsewhere as well.

Wow, this rag is sooo bad.

The writing, spelling, grammar, even the punctuation is worse than you would expect from a high school news paper. Several of the photos are so unflattering to the subject or just blurry. The "Pyrate Events Calendar" lists 15 events, 10 of which have already passed.

The only redeeming article is the one on Bartholomew Roberts. Three of the articles are nothing more then press releases.

Pass this one by, I wish I had.

Considering that the poster has only posted 4 times and either been postive FOR Pirates Magazine or negative toward me and the many fellow pirates who put together The Pyrates Way, I'd take this opinion with a grain of salt and question whether it's friends of our competition, trying to sway folks. . . it's kind of sad.

All I can say is pick up a copy of The Pyrates Way which will be hitting the retail outlets in the next few weeks, or order a copy directly from the website.

As with any new idea, there will be detractors, I just wish they were a bit more honest about their motivations and not continue to be keyboard cowards.

oh, by the way newspaper is one word.

Hello luv. Will you be at faire on Sunday? Send me an email when you get a chance.

    Muwah.

  4. Well ahoy there mates! I shall be there, minus me parrot, on Saturday only. A sudden passing occurred in the family so they need me on Sunday. I will just haf to be makin' up fer it in one day.

Now, instead of me normal red/black - I shall be in blue/black this time. I am even missin' me normal red hair - some scoundrel actually put blond streaks in it!!

You can find me by my beautiful skunk pounch and loud voice. Of course I will also be sporting macaw feathers in me hat and hopefully a Pyracy pin iffen me mate remembers to bring it.

Can't wait to see you all!!

  5. I made it out on Sunday. Unfortunately, I missed Madam Macaw and you Crimson, but got to meet a few others.

I was the sweaty idiot in a black Calico Jack JR tee and a cowboy hat.

Garb and a motorcycle don't mix, hence the Southern Maryland look for me that day.

Ah well, hope to meet more of you next time out.

There will be plenty of other chances I hope. I am not sure about this weekend - I promised the entire weekend to me mate, but I am trying to at least get one day out of the mix.

  6. Do ya be have'n a Pyracy pin to be a waerin Capt.amme Finlay????

Will be keepin a eye(patch)out for those....

Aye an' just be look'n fer my fire red hair and red bodice!! We tend to hang at the White Hart also.

    Be see'n you there.

  7.   I cant speak for blender???????

I will bo going to faire that week end for sure.

Speaking of Blender, I haven't seen her around here for a while. I hope she's okay.

She actually has a new job and has been quite busy before that happened. I am sure she will pop back in soon.

  8. Are any of the MD folks (Crimson, Blender, et al) still planning on camping near PARF on the night of the 20th/21st? If so, let me know your plans. I'd like to at least visit the encampment, maybe even reserve a spot myself.

Alas Sir Nick, Blender will be away and I be at the shore with the wee ones. We will be wit all of ye in spirit.

  9. Well.are we talkin about opening weekend or Pirate weekend????

I think last year we meet up at the White Hart Tavern around 1:00 pm

It's for Pirate weekend silly at the White Hart Tavern. Was it around one or earlier???? Wasn't like 11 or so and everyone wandered in and out all day?

How 'bout noon to give all the stragglers a bit o' extra time.

Do we want to be put'n a colored armband on again? How 'bout bright orange this time?

  10. I know someday someone would see my PYRACY decale on the work van..

My boss is not to crazy about a security van with a Jolly Roger on the back window. But we pirates love to fly our colors

Heh, a JR on the back of a l'il blue Matrix just doesnt' have the same effect I'm afraid. :)

Thar ya are Pynch!! How is it goin' lass?

  11. We'll be at the fair for pirate weekend, but, will not be camping. Does everyone want to meet at the pub again. It worked out rather well last time. Looking forward to seeing everyone there......... The Capt.

Aye - sounds like a great idea. R we want'n to do the bright green sashes again?

  12. Sorry Hawkyns dunno know where they all be staying this year, but me and me sis will be there without the powder monkeys. Look out we be cause lots of trouble.

I be join' this chat a wee bit late and not a bit sober!

I know quite a few of the crew be camp'n, though I am not sure me mate could go that long without me. I will be there both days for sure but the night belong to him.

  13. Since my name has come up on this topic, allow me to express me own actual thoughts. I said that there were to many children posting on this site without any real input. I also said there were to many adults acting like children and posting a lot of chit chat without any real input. I have no problem with anyone of any age posting on this site, as long as you have something to offer. For those who come here and want to swagger and swear as loud as they can, ( I've seen the young and the old do this ) leave. This is not a site where anyone cares if you can cuss a lot. A great many folks , both young and old, post like crazy and say absolutely nothing.. lol.. yeah... okay... are, in my opinion, not post. Thats why we have a chat area.

I am not yelling . I'm just giving my opinion. I enjoy the postings from everyone here and I love it when we can get a chance for some of us to meet and share ideas and have fun. I have nothing but respect for everyone on this board and enjoy seeing all of you here. I guess in a way, Gary said it best, when he said it was the drivel tht he minded. I agree.

I think that if your a youngin or of an adult age, be welcome here. But, please have a reason to be here. I am glad to know all of you and am happy to share thoughts opinions and ideas, along with a lot of history with all of you.

Silver..... I honestly do not remember any of your specific postings.. with that in mind.... welcome

Anyhow... just this old sea Capt. thoughts... cheers everyone

Sorry for quoting your name Flint. I am glad you clarified your opinion on this post. I don't mind the ages of posters, but have seen exactly what you are talking about many times and I find I pass these threads all together. If there is something important, I will then miss it.

  14. Ah, Cap'n - me heart be truly content with the attention, and smores.

::reaching for the bottle Siren offers::

Thank ye lass. There be noth'n better than wine and sweets.

It be good to be sitt'n with ye all new friends.
