I've had that happen to me as well, more than once. I managed to fight it off both times. I told my boss about one instance and it had her spooked the rest of the day.

Thanks, Charity. I know this will eventually pass. I just need to prevent myself from making any life-changing decisions at this time. Although chucking it all and finding an island where I can be a hermit is looking pretty good right now.

I'm going through a low to mid-level depression. This year I've had stressors in pretty much every area of my life and some major health issues, which has made it a tough year for me emotionally. I'm still dealing with the aftermath and attendent emotions. Sorry to be such a wet blanket.

Iron Jack and I will be there 2 Plus other assorted folks from Tales of the Seven Seas and the Crew of the Dirty Rotten Oar. Plus Richard Becker and his girlfriend Lisa. Don't have a headcount, though.

Christine - is there something that you can do yourself to make the day special? And can your friends do something another day? I like when my birthday is spread out a bit - if memory serves, my 40th birthday celebration took almost four weeks - started with a tattoo (my 2nd) and ended with a trip to Santa Fe. Charity - I'm so sorry to hear that you're going through this. Everyone mourns in their own way and in their own time. I'm glad to hear that there is a source of help for you to get through this!

Yeah - I have clairvoiant dreams as well (had a dream about the Apollo One disaster three weeks before it happened.) Do any of you have dreams about your old homes or places you used to work and although you know that you're in that place, it looks a lot different? That happens to me a lot. And although I haven't had dreams where I've put money in my pocket, I've had dreams where I've found lots of coins in an unusual place and gathered them up.

Well, I used to speak French, but not since 1967, so I'm a wee bit rusty (as in my ability to speak French is almost nonexistant.) And I grew up in San Francisco's Mission district, so I learned some colloquial Spanish and took Spanish for Native Speakers in high school, but that was 25 years ago, so I'm more than a bit rusty in that as well. I picked up one of those "Learn to Speak French" CD sets and as soon as my work schedule backs off a bit, I want to spend some time reacquainting myself. Probably won't happen for several months, though.

Braveheart

I've had both and found Pyrat Pistol is a wee bit lighter than Pyrat XO. Another rum that I've introduced folks to is Lemon Hart Demerara rum (the 80 proof.) Gotten a great deal of really positive feedback about that one. Rummy, I'll be bringing a bottle of that down to Kearny, so you'll get a chance to try it.

I used to play a full drum kit, but that wasn't portable enough, so more recently, I took up the bodhran. Also play the ukelele, but I've been remiss in practicing, so I'm not as good as I'd like to be. (The uke isn't exactly one of your more piratical instruments...)
