I am a living historian of many years now. I have a BA degree in History. I have reenacted many eras but I love the 18th c. the best. I am also a seamstress of many of these eras and in the process of working on orders for the 225th anniversaries of the Siege of Savannah and the Siege of Charles Towne.

Thank you everyone!! I am definitely going to look into Reconstructing History and I will take a look at those fashion plates. It should keep me busy for awhile.. Again thank ye. -
Who is going to this event? I am thinking about since it is about a 2 hour drive for me from J-ville.

Thank you for your advice on this. I will check out all of them. Again thank ye. -
I am curious as to where to find authentic patterns since I need to update my stock of patterns and I am finding some locations but they have questionable historical accuracy. Any help is appreciated?
-
Well I am planning on being there. I get to look forward to a 8 or 9 hour drive but it is all good.

Captain Raevon Morgan replied to Gentleman of Fortune's topic in Fort Taylor
So how many of ye pirates and lasses can lindy without tripping over yer sword? Now I want to see the Lindy or even them Jitterbug without injuring themselves or anyone else.. -
I am looking forward to this. I missed this convention this past year and I heard it was a blast.

This one is for the ladies...Sorry, guys.
Captain Raevon Morgan replied to Captain Raevon Morgan's topic in Thieves Market
Well I have two pages up. One that is basic history of pirates and then one of biographies of female pirates that will change monthly. I have attached it to the Baroque period page since that is when the Golden Age of Piracy was. Now I need to get a page up for clothing and such. If you ladies have personal pictures as pirates, we are going to place a page up of picture of female living historians. -

Thank you. I have worked on it so much that I think I am cross-eyed. Again, thank you. -

I know I am missing that page. I need to get it up but since I have not done alot of Renaissance era but have done the piracy impression, I am going to have to research. If you or anyone else has any links or info; please pass it on via e-mail. It would be greatly appreciated. -
I have seen the Great Pattern Review. Some of it is quite informative but I am like you, I like to see what people have tried. A friend of mine sent me a Harriet Engler strapped stay. I need to check it out. I know I said I'd rather impale myself but since I did not pay for it. LOL I would love to have a Fustian stay. I have always liked those. Any good pattern for one?? I hope your tendonitis gets better soon.
