  1. Just found out, due to family emergency, I won't be making it to this, afterall.  So be sure to raise a tankard or two for me!

We'll sure be missing yer smiling face lass, but we'll do our best to keep CC out of trouble.

Aye, and may yer family problems all work out for ye.

  2. "Old Maui" and "Flowers of Bermuda" are still on my list of favorites. And that voice....oh my....

His brother (and fiddler) Garnett is still recording and well worth a listen to as well.

Aye, Pynch be right. I've heard Garnet live. He has a rich baritone voice, and gives a really good concert.

  3. Ay, me & Jim will be sailing down from Yorktown, Pa., & staying @ the Radisson. So, we can crawl back to our room after the grand pyrate ball.

We went last year, and had a jolly-good time ( at least what we can remember)

See ya swabs @ the ball

  4. Ay, me & Jim be looking foward to a full tankard, and warm breezes, says I. And we'll probably have Mad Madam Mystique in tow.

But since it be so far off, Jim & I will be slipping down to Cancun in Feb. for a week of sun & Margaritas.

  5. I be finishing up "VILLAINS OF ALL NATIONS" by Marcus Rediker.

It contains lots of tid-bits about why sailers became pyrates, and accounts of their tryals. Very readable.

  6. Methinks the added length of the rapier in tight quarters aboard ship would be a hindrance, and with one good wack you might break a rapier blade with a cutlass. So, I would prefer a cutlass in one hand, and a tankard of rum in the other. B)

  7. Well, I can't speak for Sat. but Sunday was one beautiful day @ the Pa. Ren. Fest.

It was good to see Blenderwench, and Crimson Corsair again (Jim says hi), and got to meet several other pp members including PyratePhil.

The ale flowed like ale, and for the price of a pint of ale you could get a kiss. (Thats all i'm saying about that)

NOW ITS ON TO THE MARYLAND REN. FEST.!!!!!!!!

  8. (What? A pirate discouraged by rain? )

You know what happened to the 1715 Spanish Gold Fleet, and the final voyage of the Whydah.

Indigojack will be attending on Sunday , says I.

And ifn ye be calling me a fairweather pyrate, ye better bring your cutlass Sunday!!!!!!!

(Or, we might discuss it over a lovely tankard of ale)

I'd much rather drink than fight.

  9. Are there any of the above who A) Shant be participating in costume as a reenactor or  are bringing spousal types also in garb?  I needs to be able to tell em about the dinner on the Nickle Saturday nite.  The above list does NOT include people already performing at the thang.

A reminder, that dinner is period dress, bring your own period plate and eatin devices.....

    :

Zorg, We be setting sail for Hampton this morning, I don't know if our garb be authentic enough for the encampment. I'm sure someone will let us know, but we would love to do the dinner. Sat. night.
