Ahoy mates, just wonderin' iffin' any o' me close neighbors from out east are plannin' on coming down to Muskogee, OK fer the Oklahoma Renaissance Festival? If it be so, make sure ya drop me a line, so I can meet some o' my fellow Pub mates!

Faire dates: Every bleedin' weekend in May (Starts Saturday, April 30)

  1. Bo,

I hear ya on the rain mate. All that bleedin' sogginess ruined me an' my lady's plans fer a trip ta the lake this weekend. I'm jes' hopin' it all clears up before our local Faire starts this coming Saturday.

An' is it still spring turkey season cross the border there? We only got a week left here.

Also, a quick question. Do ye always go huntin' in garb? (Honestly looks like an enjoyable way to add some "authentic 'wear an' tear'" to yer kit)

  2. Here be my take on Shepard's Pie:

Brown 1 pound of ground Goat (yes, of the Billy variety) with 1/2 cup white onion. Use the drippings from the meat, along with beef stock and flour to make some quick gravy. Dice about 5-6 carrots into rough 1 to 1 1/4 inch pieces, and add to the meat. Pour all of it into a pie dish and stir in the gravy. Coat the top with mashed potatoes, and bake for about 25-35 minutes at 350 degrees.

I like using goat, on account that it's delicious, and not often used.
