Great photos! Thank you for posting them.
  3. A friend of mine is a project manager for large yacht construction in Turkey. I've seen the fine examples of what they build. the vessels he's building are aluminum but the finish work is awesome. The others I've seen are the Vicem Yachts. They have built a few in Florida just to show the quality of construction.
  4. Gods wounds! Damn me lights n' gizzards! Got yer voice back yet?

  5. Greetings to ye. May yer tyme here in be of good cheer and fellowship. As a brotherhood of honest mariners wot may on occasion, and only with Letter of Marque, prey upon the enemy of our Sovereign, we always be in need of arms. We shall be looh\kin for'rd to casting an eye upon yer goods. Until then, Welcome aboard! Dutch
  6. I've performed marriges aboard my vessel. However they are good for the duration of the Voyage only. Basically, "Till Dawn do us Part!"
  7. I'd like to offer me tuppence. Once we'uns wuz deprived o' our daily hot showers in the day o' Men wi' Hearts o' Oak. The early days of the sailing Navy. The treatment o' ones traditional long hair o' the sailor wuz to slick the whole mess wi' good Stockholm Tar and braid in four strand round sennit. The kerchief and later in the days when uniforms had the attachment, this was for protection from said Tar. The purpose: First, stays in place and out o' yer eyes. Then, wi' out those hot showers and no shampoo and conditioner (damn their eyes) the natural oils were kept in and the salt kept out. A simple rinse o' spirits would remove the Tar and then, Only Your Hairdresser Knew For Sure!
  8. I have begun to post the details for this year's Beaufort Pirate Invasion. The dates are Friday, the 12th of August and Sat. the 13th. As we contract with food and entertainment I will post on "Events, Invasions, etc." or whatever the topic is below PiP. I look forward to seeing you folks in my homeport. Dutch "X" (his mark)
  9. Ah, Yes! The incorporation of child labor. Aboard of the "Meka"II we have 8 guns and one magazine! We requires a Powder Monkey and frankly, wouldn't sail wi'out one. Why the idea of a grown person running fore and aft, twix and t'ween gunns and gun crews is unthinkable. Our current fellow, "slowmatch" has been aboard since he was about 10. Soon he will be elevated to Midshipman and we will have to kidna, I mean offer the position to another lad or lass ready for the job!
  10. This year we will be having the festivities on the 12th and 13TH of August. Start making your plans. We will be posting details as we secure them The website is up so you can check in there periodically www.beaufortpirateinvasion.com

  13. Ye make good points here mate ye surly do, we will make the best of it! In this case we trade weapons for ships. We have both the Pride of Baltimore and the Bounty on dock and sea. This be an event of honor and celebration of top pirates in our community and for that I'll put down my weapons. I will however consider your recommendation of Charleston for next Years honoring the Devil's Dozen into the Order of Leviathan. I think that Charleston, SC would be an excellent choice for next year's Devil's Dozen event. It is certainly a city rich in pirate and maritime history! ......As fer meself, I vote fer Beaufort, NC. A very pirate friendly town, and a Blackbeard connection also !!! >>>>> Cascabel You can say that again! Cascabel, me brother in Commerce, a point well made.A few added perks, The only reenactment of a Pyrate Invasion where it took place!! Also, the North Carolina Maratime Museum has Artifacts brought up from the "Queen Anne's Revenge". Around the corner from the Historic Grounds, site of Invasion and admission is free!
