Hello, there. I wonder whether someone will be able to help me with what may be an odd reuqest. I am in charge of events at Big Surf Waterpark at the Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri, and this year we are hoping to have a "Pirate Day" on July 21. We have already planned a treasure hunt for the kids, eye patches, etc., but what we really need to make the day memorable for our guests are some real pirates to scare the crowd, perhaps have some sword fights, maybe even walk the plank over our wave pool... the possibilities for fun stuff are endless. Can anybody help me find some pirate enthusiasts locally who would be willing to help us out, have some fun, and earn some m…

The Pyrates Way will be starting a new feature for every issue about pyrate crews. Whether you're a professional troup of entertainers, a guild of pyrates, historical re-enactors, or just a gaggle of rum-imbibing-souls, we want yer story. Here's what we need: 1. Brief few paragraphs about what your group is about, when it got started, who's involved, and where you've been seen. We also need email contact info and if your crew is open to new members. 2. A few photos of your group in action, a group photo, or other important visuals (logo, motto, etc. . .) Send it to: Publisher@pyratesway.com with "Pyrate Group" in the Subject line. This is for publication starting …

I am considerin hiring a musical pirate band to do a private party for discovery channel. The band's name that Iam considering to hire is "The Brigands". If you have any information about this group, it would be extremely helpful if you could voice your opinion.

Our mundane professional association had its annual meeting this week in a little hamlet called Seaside, Oregon. The undoubted highlight of the event was the closing night beach party, enlivened by The Portland based BOOM Pirates. You may recognize this as the same crew behind the Portland Pirate Festival. All I can say is thanks for a job well done! The festivities began with the BOOM Pirates kidnapping the leadership team and bringing them back turned pirate. Later, there was swordplay, singing, and canons on the beach. A great time was had by all!

Ahoy! I be lookin' fer to learn how to sail, and the best method I can fathom is to find a ship that I can work on, maybe for a couple of weeks during the next school break, which would be after the end of the month of November.

Ahoy, folks. Whilst there's plenty of piratical history up here in Eastern Canada [running from 1602 through 1844], there's not so much in the way of Pirate Crews. Looking to touch base with crews from Eastern Canada or Northern New England ... shopping 'round, like. So, here's the hook.... Any takers? Or am I down to jigging without bait?

Are there any pirates in the Vermont/New Hampshire area? I happen to live on a hill overlooking the Connecticut River in western New Hampshire, and as much as I'd love to go into Portsmouth to meet with folks, it's enough of a trip that I'd have to make it as a rare treat. But, if there's anyone on this side of the state, I'd love to join up with them. (Note: This is the same problem I had with the SCA - all the SCAfolk in New Hampshire seem to be on the coast...)

Bonsoir, I am looking for a crew to converse online regarding actual pirates and history. How much do you know about the scoundrels that cruised the accursed waters of the Spanish Main? How much are you willing to tell? How much are you willing to learn? What tales have you heard? What stories can you tell? What books told you the most? What books do you need yet to read? What links gave you the best leads? What links can you share with others? Let's bring back the glory of the Frere de la Cote, Brethren of the Coast, and honor them with their own memory. Vive le Coutume de la Cote! LeVasseur

Good day and well met gentiles. This location is blessed by it's origination is here in the pub where Ray serves the ale and friends can be where they are comfortable. We are the Pirates of Treasure Cove an idea sparked by a common need to have fun and do something possitive at the same time while interacting with patrons at local Renaissance faires and Pirate gatherings (festivals). There is nothing better than being with friends, sharing an idea, and watching as it all comes together. Our ideal of which is most common is promoting the importance of reading and sharing booklists to children about the sea, its peoples and pirates. We can too be found in our yahoo group wh…

Anyone here in the Louisville, KY area? I live in southern Indiana and I live 1.5 miles from the Ohio River. I have two small boats and a couple of cannons, but very few people to play with. I am looking to start a river-pirate oriented group since Louisville and surrounding areas were known for that. (See Cave-in-Rock which is close enough for a week-long trip. Also New London, Indiana) Right now I play with a local group called the Skurvy Dog Clan, but very few of them are actually interested in pirates. I am already involved with a couple of events that are looking for river pirates, so if anyone is interested, let me know! Also, my biggest cannon is a 1781 U.S. Navy …
