Capt. Sterling
Hats off and raise a glass to Mr. March, Rats, Pete Straw, Cheeky, Gunner Beach and Bosun de Dogge for the SPLENDID display they set up at RF2. Considering they've only been working on this stuff since November, they did a damn fine job of it... and its only the beginning!! Hand made charts by Pete, display tavern backdrop and the very best slide show by Rats and Bell tower and seven cutlasses by Mr. March just to name a few of the items the crew put together in time for the event!!! I tell ye there are NONE better!! Working Bell Tower and 30 min hour glass... Some of the swords made by Mr. March, along with some of Rats' & Pete's guns... Swivel gun Charts, letters of marque and navigational tools Not to mention the rum and a box of grenadoes plus two cut aways to show the inner workings (special thanks to Gentleman of Fortune).... No, not everything is perfectly pc, but we're working on it.... and what a way to teach the kids at events all hands on! "I being shot through the left cheek, the bullet striking away great part of my upper jaw, and several teeth which dropt down the deck where I fell... I was forced to write what I would say to prevent the loss of blood, and because of the pain I suffered by speaking."~ Woodes Rogers Crewe of the Archangel http://jcsterlingcptarchang.wix.com/creweofthearchangel# http://creweofthearchangel.wordpress.com/

And you constructive criticism would be greatly appreciated! :) Mebbe' it's my art department training talkin', but I think that aging the wood on the walls and the table might add a bit to the display. Some dirt and stains as well -CS- As we say in Ireland let's drink until the alcohol in our system destroys our liver and kills us. CaptainSatan
Soon as I get a chance, they're going to be dragged outside and start to be "weathered" in the snow for the next couple months!!!Rats Wouldn't suggest doing anything that might actually warp the wood For the tables you can file/sand down all the hard edges. You can add small knicks & scratches. Use a stain that will build up in the nicks & scratches, making them darker. You can put small bits of chain, rocks, and scrap metal in a heavy bag and use it to beat the wood. Some people use a chain to beat and distress the wood, but that can cause a regular pattern to appear. Same techniques can be used for walls, beams, etc. -CS As we say in Ireland let's drink until the alcohol in our system destroys our liver and kills us. callenish gunner
i might suggest a process of limeing the wood ....the effect uses white paint highly thinned and tinged with just a touch of green ....you wipe it on and then wipe it off almost immediately ...it catches in the grain and it was a processed used to keep the rot down in wooden cabin walls especially from wood worms ...the original process used quick lime a bit caustic for modern purposes the paint trick gives the impression without the effects to skin and clothing from contact
