Maggie Crowe Posted July 8, 2007 Posted July 8, 2007 Speaking as a Mom of a 5-year-old pirate in the making (he's going to be a pirate and a paleontologist when he grows up ), I love that they turned Tom Sawyer's Island into Pirate Island. He got to see and play on Tom Sawyer's Island in WDW, so this will be a fun addition for him. The island was meant as a huge play area, a place where parents and kids alike could get a break from rides and shows and just play. I suspect that's not going to change much. As a travel agent, it's one of the things I recommend to parents . That's one of the cool things about Disneyland that I've come to appreciate as I got older, there's always a little place you can go to escape from the crowds, if only for a few minutes.
Misson Posted July 9, 2007 Posted July 9, 2007 The changes don't look all bad: "I am so clever that sometimes I don't understand a single word of what I am saying.” -Oscar Wilde "If we all worked on the assumption that what is accepted is really true, there would be little hope of advance." -Orville Wright

I doubt that will be the case any longer.... Well, you may not realize it but your looking at the remains of what was once a very handsome woman!

Like the way stores measure their effectiveness in sales per square foot. In an amusement park, the metric would probably be riders per unit of time or some such. I don't need a lot of room, just a few minutes where I'm not being jostled, pushed, or run over by a stroller (or those danged skate shoe things) I noticed more of those little hidden hideaways when I was in WDW last year, than I remembered from DCA, but I'm hoping to make the comparison this September
