Rogue Mermaid Posted January 30, 2007 Posted January 30, 2007 I saw Epic Movie last night. I laughed extremely hard at some parts, and thought other parts were overwhelmingly stupid. I'd say save your $9 and rent it in a few months, but definatly rent it. There are some great laughs. They do a pretty funny parody of Jack Sparrow (Capt. Jack Swallows). I was wondering how Disney was taking it. Did the makers of Epic Movie need permission to parody him?
Black Hearted Pearl Posted January 30, 2007 Posted January 30, 2007 It is better to ask for forgiveness than for permission. ~Black Hearted Pearl The optimist expects the wind. The pessimist complains about the wind. The realist adjusts the sails.
Captain Jim Posted January 30, 2007 Posted January 30, 2007 Parody has always been held as a legitimate form of expression. I doubt Disney could do anything, and would be seen as petty if they did. My occupational hazard bein' my occupation's just not around...
Capt Grey Posted January 30, 2007 Posted January 30, 2007 Spoofing the original is not considered copyright infringement. The Stormtroopers in the movie are my friends from my costuming club. Captain, we always knew you were a whoopsie. Rumors of my death are entirely premature.
Rogue Mermaid Posted January 30, 2007 Author Posted January 30, 2007 I'd be lying if I said I didn't think of you when I saw them
Capt Grey Posted January 30, 2007 Posted January 30, 2007 I didn't know anything about the film until my older son was rambling on about it. I thought it was something on one of the kid channels, then I saw a short trailer on TV. Here's the group: Captain, we always knew you were a whoopsie. Rumors of my death are entirely premature.
Black Hearted Pearl Posted January 30, 2007 Posted January 30, 2007 These must be successful stormtroopers; they're not dirty. ~Black Hearted Pearl The optimist expects the wind. The pessimist complains about the wind. The realist adjusts the sails.

May yer Life be a long and joyous adventure in gettin there! As he was about to face the gallows there, the pirate is said to have tossed a sheaf of papers into the crowd, taunting his audience with these final words: "My treasure to he who can understand."
