Yes, maritime history can, but does not necessarily, involve pirate history.

i read it involed the sea,navigation,and shipping etc. what i need to know is etc. involve pirates?thats all i need to know.

Maritime history is anything to do with water ( fresh or salt) and history. So pirates would be a part of that.
