blackjohn Posted January 3, 2007 Posted January 3, 2007 January 20th. Not a reenactment, just an excuse to dress as a pirate (hell, I've even seen a Pittsburgh Pirate there), drink rum, and have fun. Any of you planning on being there? My Home on the Web The Pirate Brethren Gallery Dreams are the glue that holds reality together.
jim hawkins Posted January 3, 2007 Posted January 3, 2007 I'm saying No for now, but I'll probably change my mind at the last minute and crash it.
kass Posted January 3, 2007 Posted January 3, 2007 Bob, the girls, and I will be there with the usual bells on! Jim! If you aren't there, who will the girls roll around on the floor with? Building an Empire... one prickety stitch at a time!

kass Posted January 3, 2007 Posted January 3, 2007 Well, Black Fox, the Pirate Feast generally sells out within a week of tickets going on sale -- back in early September. I'm afraid if you don't have tickets now, there aren't any yet. Anyone have Chort's email to share? Building an Empire... one prickety stitch at a time!
blackjohn Posted January 3, 2007 Author Posted January 3, 2007 I generally remind everyone in September. I probably posted a reminder here back then. If anyone is interested in getting on the waiting list for tickets, feel free to PM me and I can get a message to Chort, or send you his email. On second thought, don't PM me, because my PM box will probably be full. Click the email me button instead. jim hawkins Posted January 3, 2007 Posted January 3, 2007 Jim! If you aren't there, who will the girls roll around on the floor with? Hmm the odds of me attending just went way up.
Silkie McDonough Posted January 4, 2007 Posted January 4, 2007 Sounds like fun but alas, I have no finery and doubt very much I will be able to create any by then. ::sigh:: Just realized I have plans that weekend.
kass Posted January 4, 2007 Posted January 4, 2007 Oh Murin! You don't need finery for the Pirate Feast! There are people there in 100% authentic kit and there are people there wearing bandanas and eyepatches and saying "Arrrrrr." One year there was a guy in a three-piece suit with a briefcase -- he was a Corporate Pirate! Perhaps you'll join us next year? Watch this space in September for the announcement. Jim, darling, the girls will be very put out if you don't go. Shall I have them PM you with enticements? Building an Empire... one prickety stitch at a time!
blackjohn Posted January 4, 2007 Author Posted January 4, 2007 The diversity does help contribute to the fun. The most outlandish thing I ever did was the Barbary corsair outfit. I have been tempted to do "space pirate" and even the "pirate trying to pass himself off as a woman and not doing a very good job of it" routines, but never have gotten around to it. Thinking about it, this feast will either mark my 20th anniversary of piratin', or maybe 21st! Whoooo! And yes, this morning I finally got around to sending Chort some money, so I will be there. I'll be bringing pirate Chris with me, who you probably have never met. My Home on the Web The Pirate Brethren Gallery Dreams are the glue that holds reality together.
kass Posted January 4, 2007 Posted January 4, 2007 He looks vaguely familiar but I don't know why... Building an Empire... one prickety stitch at a time!
