Mates All,

I recieved offical notice that the long standing Renaissance Faire of the Midlands in Council Bluffs, Iowa has shut it's gates after 23 years due to lack of funding and ever rising operational costs.

This is a sad time among the Rennie community as we loose yet another area of sanity in an ever increasing insane world.

For those of you who never got the opportunity to visit this faire, you missed out on a really nice faire - the only one I know of that ran at night on Friday so that the working folk could come out and enjoy themselves.

At least myself and my crew where lucky enough to bring laughter and smiles to the patrons for three years. Those memories will stay with us the rest of our lives.

Here's hoping this is not the end of faires in the Council Bluffs area.

Aye, if I was closer I would lend a sword and hand mate. Sorry to hear that news.
