hurricane
I just saw my first night launch of the shuttle - wow! I'm inland, just north of Orlando and the thing lit up the sky. You could even see the boosters falling away for some distance. Thanks to my DVR, I know that I would see it almost 50 miles down range before it disappeared from my view. Wow! Nothing like it... -- Hurricane -- Hurricane ______________________________________________________________________ http://piratesofthecoast.com/images/pyracy-logo1.jpg Captain of The Pyrates of the Coast Author of "Memoirs of a Buccaneer: 30 Year Before the Mast" (Published in Fall 2011) Scurrilous Rogue Stirrer of Pots Fomenter of Mutiny Bon Vivant & Roustabout Part-time Carnival Barker Certified Ex-Wife Collector Experienced Drinking Companion "I was screwed. Red Cat Jenny
I live in the wrong state.... Some days even my lucky rocketship underpants won't help.... Her reputation was her livelihood. I'm a pirate, love. By nature and by choice! My inner voice sometimes has an accent! My wont? A delicious rip in time...
JohnnyTarr
I saw my first night launch while I lived in Daytona Beach. Drove down to see it. That was the night my camera got stolen from a guy on a bike. Git up of your asses, set up those glasses I'm drinking this place dry.
hurricane
Sorry there were no photos - I was on a dead run across the parking lot right after she launched - so I didn't have time to grab the video camera. Crimson Blade
Landings in the night are sometimes scary though. The loud thud shakes our entire house!
