Pirate Christmas Carols

Recommended Posts

My little swab has it in her head that we need to be singing & listening to pirate versions of christmas carols.

Who knows some? Who's got some on CD? Care to help me re-write a few (appropriate for the under teen set)?

Thanks!

Under teen? Well ye asked

Dashing through the spray

In a fearsome pirate waaay

O'er the waves we go

Laughing all the way

Bells on ships deck ring

Making spirits bright

What fun it is to laugh and sing

A pir-ate chris-tmas song tonight

Oh, jingle blades, jingle blades

Jingle all the way

Oh, what fun it is to sail

across the sea today

Jingle blades, jingle blades

Jingle all the way

Oh, what fun it is to plunder

presents on the way!

A day or two ago

I thought I'd try to find

some treasure nice and bright

and hide it by my side

The chest was big and gold

A fortune - yes a lot

We sailed it to the nearest port

And gave away the lot!

Oh, jingle blades, jingle blades

Jingle all the way

Oh, what fun it is to sail

across the sea today

Jingle blades, jingle blades

Jingle all the way

Oh, what fun it is to plunder

presents on the way!

AAArrrrrr!!!!

;););) Only Red Cat could come up with that!

...schooners, islands, and maroons

and buccaneers and buried gold...

 that's awsome Red Cat!

So far the only one I've got is the Scurvvy Dogs version of Three Ships which has the line "what's on those ships all three? Drunken pirates full of rum"

What a Fright, What a Fright, What a Fright! (sung to the tune of "Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow")

Oh, the pirates outside are frightful, and their ship is not delightful,

And since they're all here to raid, let us pray, let us pray, let us pray!

They don't show signs of stopping, and they brought some guns for poppin',

Their torches are burning bright, what a fright, what a fright, what a fright!

When they finally leave our town, how we'll love to see them sail away,

And if we're lucky they'll leave our gold, And all the things we own!

The fires are slowly dying, and too many of us are crying.

And until they leave our sight, what a fright, what a fright, what a fright!

Deck the Ships (to be sung to the tune of "Deck the Halls")

Deck the ships with lots of booty, yo ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho,

'Tis the season to be looting, yo ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho.

Don we now our pirate clothing, yo ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho.

Think of us with lots of loathing, yo ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho.

Set the blazing town before us, yo ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho.

Cannons fire and join the chorus, yo ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho.

Give us all your gold and treasure, yo ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho.

Then your maidens'll give us pleasure! Yo ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho!

You will be flogged. And God willing, come morning, you will be flogged some more.

Your Town's Roasting in an Open Fire (to be sung to the tune "Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire")

Your town's roasting in an open fire,

Gunshots're nipping at your backs,

Screaming women yelling for us to leave

And you're in terror as you're sacked.

Everybody knows a cannon and a pirate flag

Help to make the season's fright.

Town folks here with their eyes all squeezed shut

Will find it hard to live tonight.

They know that pirates're in their town,

They'll grab up lots of gold and maidens in their gowns.

And every mother's child is gonna cry

As through the streets their frightened families will fly.

And so, I'm offering this simple phrase,

To folks from one to ninety-two.

If you don't want us in your town anymore,

"Give us treasure, please do!"

Frooosty th pirate was a salty drunken soul

with a tri corn hat

and a shiny sword and is garb was full o holes!

went out to pillage..for a drunken wicked fray

an e waved goode bye as the townsfolk cried

cause he stole their gold that day

it was a scene so tragic when he sailed out from that town

he laughed so hard - fell off his ship

and very nearly drowned!

oh frosty the pirate knew the navy's on it's way

so he waved good bye sayin aye aye aye

I'll be back again some day!

Some days even my lucky rocketship underpants won't help....

Her reputation was her livelihood.

This one was penned by my Gaoler

I'll be Home at Yuletide (tune of "I'll be Home for Christmas)

I'll be home at Yuletide,

You can count on me.

Please have snow and mistletoe

And candles 'round the tree

Life at Sea is Lonely,

WIthout your loved ones 'round.

I'll be home for Yuletide

For I am Homeward Bound.

I'll be home at Yuletide,

Just you wait and see.

Fruit to eat ... and lots of meat,

And presents under the tree.

No more hammock to sleep in,

Hanging from the beams.

I'll be home for Yuletide ...

If Only in my Dreams.

A couple of others Diamond, my gaoler, penned and sent last night. Enjoy one an all!

I Saw Captain Kissing Santa Claus

I saw Captain kissing Santa Claus

Underneath the mistletoe last night.

She didn't hear me creep

Up the stairs to have a peep

She thought that I was tucked up

In my hamock fast asleep.

Then I saw Captain tickle Santa Claus

Underneath his beard so snowy white.

Oh, what a laugh it would have been

If the others had only seen

Captain kissing Santa Claus last night.

(repeat)

--------------------------------------------------

This next one is a spin off of the entire crew and our names.

Ruby, The Red-Nosed Pirate

You know Emerald and Diamond and Amethyst and Jade,

Drinks all the rum under coconut shade,

But do you recall the most famous pirate of all?

Ruby the red-nosed pirate

Had a very shiny nose

And if you ever saw it

You would even say it glows

All of the other pirates

Used to laugh and call her names

They never let poor Ruby

Join in any pirate games.

Then one foggy Christmas Eve

Emerald came to say,

"Ruby with your nose so bright

Won't you guide our way tonight?"

Then how the pirates loved her

As they sloshed and spilled their drinks

"Ruby the red-nosed pirate,

You'd look cute even in pink."
