Capt. Sterling Posted December 2, 2006 Posted December 2, 2006 I know "Reggie" extremely well. Not to fret, tis all in fun. I must admit. I love the romance behind the whole Golden Age of Piracy, I must admit Reginalds topics threw me a bit. If you had to rate this chat site (G/PG/PG-13/R-17/R/X) what would you rate it? hmmm the entire site? Does have some x rated threads, so if you have wee ones, you will want to keep an eye on them... the rest varies... Aurore Devareaux Posted December 2, 2006 Posted December 2, 2006 Think of Ren Faires as Hollywood's cant on history. Not terribly correct...But they sure can be fun. Lilith Posted December 2, 2006 Author Posted December 2, 2006 Good Night! Lilith - Commander of The Tartarus "God did not hold back from punishing the angels that sinned, but, by throwing them into Tartarus, delivered them into pits of dense darkness to be reserved for judgement."
Rumba Rue Posted December 2, 2006 Posted December 2, 2006 Ahoy! I tried to get into the Pub last night to say hi, but apparently it was off-line. So here I am this morning. I've been sick all week, still am, but starting to feel a wee bit better. Welcome to the Pub!
Lilith Posted December 3, 2006 Author Posted December 3, 2006 Good Morning RumbaRue! Yes, suffering from a nasty cough myself and kept to my bed yesterday trying to recoup. Hope you are feeling better. I am. Thank you for your warm welcome and I'd offer you a hot cider but it seems that I've drank it all due to my cough. How about run instead? Lilith - Commander of The Tartarus "God did not hold back from punishing the angels that sinned, but, by throwing them into Tartarus, delivered them into pits of dense darkness to be reserved for judgement."
Rumba Rue Posted December 3, 2006 Posted December 3, 2006 Run? I think you meant rum. Only if it's mixed with some cola.
Silkie McDonough Posted December 5, 2006 Posted December 5, 2006 Watchdog is invite only if I recall correctly. This may have been addressed already but if I don't reply now I shall forget before I get to the last post on this thread. The WatchDog is technically by invitation only but you can ask the Captain to be invited. There is a bit of a commitment in reading, sometimes the posts get long and there may be quite a few posts in one day. I personally find it addictive. Now, I should be polite ...err, as polite as pirates get. Welcome t'd poub lass! I'll ave a flaggon o'grog, ifin ya will. N'ifin ya ken manage it ...det lad o'r deer :)
Silkie McDonough Posted December 5, 2006 Posted December 5, 2006 I need to find out "WHO" I am first. You know, the whole Protagonist/Antagonist thing. Who know...maybe I'll have my outline done by this weekend. I am using the WatchDog to develop my character. I started with a few "facts" (some based on me some based on what I would want to be) She is Irish/Scottish, her name, she sings. Then I began talking to and interacting with the pub members and finally with those of the WatchDog. My character is not a sailor because I am not. She has skills that I possess because it is easier to explain her behavior's and actions. For example, as an Irish Catholic in that time she would not be educated but I read so I have included in her bio that she has a elementary education, at a low level that was given her by the lady of the house she was serving in. She has skills I do not posses. Mender of Nets and Sails. She grew up by the sea and needed to have some skill related to the sea. I also made her younger so that I can mold the character to conform to me. This has been a process that started in February, and I am still working.
