first off fire power would be important i'd prefer an uzi (

An Uzi is close to a shotgun.... good up close.... lots of bullets......but dang... you can't reach out and touch someone........ no range........

I'M still arguing th' AK.......(an M16 is good.... but the round is too light .... at .762... th' AK has it for dirt simple....and almost the same range.....) Lots of ammo to carry... but I wanna go for a killing round/// not the M16's "wounding " round.......(fun discussion on this... if ye wanna play)

See.... the Military survivalist.... vs. the ............hummmmm... so wot are the other thoughts.....?

Dang... some of us are going for the most efficent Killing.... (and didn't pyrates do that....)

Rats.... think I'm getting "caught=up" with the story..........

An' wit' th' AK.... I can get more rum and wenches an' loot than I could live wit'.....

OK that would be my downfall..... but it would be interesting.....................

"Much as I luv Ransom, not my first pick! Sorry, luv."

 .....

"Sorry Ransom, had the thread been, 'Who would ye take to a tropical island fer a short trip?' Ye'd be first on my list; and we could both bring sun screen!"

Guess I shoulda told ya, my Grandma taught me how to shoot a .22 when I was around seven. I have shot black powder weapons, and did bullseye at fifty yards the very first time I fired a musket. I still own a shotgun. I used to motorcycyle camp for years, so packing light is second nature, as is roughing it. No, I don't know how to sail, but I'm a real fast learner.

But, if I had to pick who I'd take with me, I think it would be Patrick. He seems to have the game down pretty good, and I'd love to see the expressions on the faces of other pirates when they see his flag - still my favorite, BTW.

Okay, so I take it no one wants to try and blend in, what? **snigger**

I'd be happy to blend. Though I can't managed to blend in daily life. Don't know I'd be any better back then either.

I seem to have missed this one in the past. I'd bring the following:

-A modern tall ship replica in steel with wood plating (probably square tops'l schooner or the likes) and reinforced hardpoints for .50 cal machine guns, engine (possibly an advanced steam engine), radar, reverse osmosis machine (making water), etc.

-.50 cal machine guns and ample ammo

-Bullet proof vest

-Semi-auto shotgun w/ammo incl. slugs for longer range 'defense'

-Disinfectant of some sort

-Sig P229 .40 w/ extra magazines and ammo

-Camera, batteries, lenses, etc.

-History of major financial changes, price of goods in various ports, etc.

-Sextant and necessary publications for navigation backdated to the time

-Automatic signing machine programable for a number of high-ranking political and economic hotshots of the era.

-Period clothing

-A decent quantity of trivial things to sell (I'm thinking along the lines of high-quality padlocks, reams of paper, etc. Something that's better quality of something they're familiar with).

Or at least I'd take something along these lines.
