PirateKing
The Texas Renaissance Festival runs October and November at Plantersville, Texas, and it is a phenomenal event. The fair ground are permanent, and the festival has been in place for over 20 years so it well established and highly popular. People come from as far away as Dallas to this Houston area fest. Although TRF has the usual festival personalities, the Pirate community is ALWAYS well represented. Here is a link to their official website: http://www.texrenfest.com See you there! Zephaniah W Nash
A few of us are going to try to make it (not a long trip from Fort Worth), scheduling and finances permitting. Couldn't give a date yet -- still waiting on getting everyone's schedules together, but hoping to know soon...
Aurore Devareaux
A couple of the sister ships from Scarborough will be there Oct. 14 / 15. (Which is Buccaneer's Weekend if you didn't already know.) Monsuier Nash!!!! You should try to make the date, it will be grand to see you again! We shall trade tales of cognac survival tactics learned from Scarby! Zephaniah W Nash
At TRF, it ain't the cognac, it's the mead that always gets me in trouble. By the bottle is so much more dangersome than in those little plastic cups... I'll pitch those dates to the rest of the crew. Some might be recognizeable, plus a new face or two, with any luck. Black Syren
Looks like we will attend the 14th and 15th. My Husbands boss's wife will attend with me and my wee one. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v519/Dara286/trident01-11.png If you got a dream chase it, cause a dream won't chase you back...(Cody Johnson Till you Can't)
Zephaniah W Nash
Still trying to wrangle dates out of all involved on this end, but by this time, it's not looking like we'll make it that particular weekend, drat it. That could still change, however, and if not, I'll be posting whatever dates we do manage as soon as I know. And, depending on exact locations -- and just how full our car actually ends up being -- we've certainly got no problems with caravanning or sharing an empty seat with someone else... pigleg pete
Polishing the hook, and standing by for action! - though homeported in Port Angeles, WA, I'll be in Fort Worth 12 Oct - 18 Oct, and have the 15th free. I'll be headin the fair anyway early on that date or late on the 14th, returning 15th late late late. I'm solo and I've room for supercargo if any be needing a ride. Zephaniah W Nash
We defintiely won't get to make it for the 14th and 15th. There are three of us now trying to make the trip, and my two companions just can't get that particular weekend off work. Now, it isn't completely impossible that this could change between now and then, but it just ain't likely. We'll be trying for a weekend a bit later in the season and I'll post here as soon as we have a decision. What brings you to Cowtown, Pigleg? That's where I'm at. Drop a line, maybe we can hoist a few while you're in town...

Capt. Sterling
Love the caravans... are any of them finished on the inside? Aurore Devareaux
They are, but not as the real thing would be. Remember, vardos were like the modern day "mobile home". The were a bit crowded inside and contained a "kitchen" and bed. They varied in size and shape....Some were fancy, others not as much. Authentic vardos interior example These should give a better idea of the real thing. Culliford
Me wife, me son, and me daughter and I will be makin' landfall t' peruse this "Renaissance Festival" sometime in November. Arrrrr there any other pyrates in or near Texas that will be attendin' the festivities in November? ----------------------- Normally, we go in Medieval garb (I have a suit of chain... wife has a Queen Elizabeth I dress), but now that we have our pyrate gear... we can't pass up this opportunity to let it get some air. :) We'd love to meet some people from the community there! Zephaniah W Nash
At this point, we're planning a run down November 11-12. Sadly, our plans are all-to-often more fluid than we would like (it seems that lately any time we plan more than a day or two ahead, something comes along to scuttle those plans for us). But, that is the plan at this point. We'll be heading down Friday afternoon, most likely rooming in Conroe, and coming back Monday morning.
