Barbados Sam
1. To win an 8 figure Lottery. 2. To be able to sing. 3. That I would have gotten my Dad to teach me his spaghetti recipe before he passed away. "There be the chest, inside be the gold, we took them all. Spent them and traded them. We frittered them away on drink and food and pleasurable company. The more we gave them away, the more we came to realize... the drink would not satisfy, food turned to ash in our mouths, and all the pleasurable company in the world could not slake our lust. We are cursed men....Compelled by greed we were, and now we are consumed by it."

That's one I got twice. My great-aunt made the best ever homemade sausage gravy, and my grandmother made the best cornbread ever made by human beings. Ever. They have both passed away -- bless their kind, kind souls -- but they each passed on to me these wonderful recipes before they died. And, no, I won't give them to you. My kids get them. Come over to visit, and I will cook them for you -- but stay out of the kitchen. "He's a Pirate dancer, He dances for money, Any old dollar will do... "He's a pirate dancer, His dances are funny... Hester
Okay, well, compared to all the heartfelt and compassionate wishes of the previous posters, mine are ultra-shallow: 1. A private tropical island -- undeveloped, uninhabited and uncharted -- which will naturally supply all the fresh water, abundant fruit, fish, seafood & veg to support my husband and I (and occasional invited visitors) for the rest of our very long and happy lives. 2. A combination hot spring & waterfall on the island, where we can bathe everyday, the waters of which are a magical "fountain of youth" to keep us healthy and strong and beautiful. 3. A pirate ship, crewable by just 2, and full of treasure, so that we can make occasional trips to exotic ports for luxuries not available on our island (like rum and butter tarts and Dolce & Gabbana pirate outfits), and to allow us to see the other wonders of the world firsthand. Cheers, Hester ... who is otherwise very happy and thankful for her real life just the way it is.

Hope to believe in infinite possibilities, Faith to endure what comes to pass, and Charity overflowing to those who have lost all hope. “Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. Ransom
Every day it might change. For the day a good friend died, I'd want them back, whole and healthy. For every war, I'd want peace. For every abandoned man, woman or child, I'd want shelter and safety and love. I'd want a world that doesn't trash itself with refuse - in water, land, or air. I'd want eveyone to experience true love at least once in their life. Every day the wishes would change, to be given to those who needed them. ...schooners, islands, and maroons and buccaneers and buried gold... You can do everything right, strictly according to procedure, on the ocean, and it'll still kill you. But if you're a good navigator, a least you'll know where you were when you died.......From The Ship Killer by Justin Scott.
