Silkie McDonough Posted August 31, 2007 Posted August 31, 2007 Silkie was being served by the time Roberts stumbled into the galley behind her. "I was beginin t'tink I had not let ya sleep long nough" she paused and looked at what was on her plate, hoped it was better than what Goose served, "Or maybe you had no hunger in ya." Silkie winked at the man then turned, "Get some food n'join me."
Black Nate Posted August 31, 2007 Posted August 31, 2007 Nate sat and pondered what the commodore had said about being on their best behavior. As he did, the captain spoke very eloquently, but her grin made ol' Nate grin and almost laugh. The coach came to a stop and Nate was the first one out the door. He wavered a bit as he held the door, as the ride was worse on him than when he first stepped off his raft onto tera ferma. He offered his hand to the ladies as they stepped out of the coach and stood tall as the commodore exited, shutting the door behind him. Nate arranged his accoutrements so they were comfortable and waited for orders. he noticed the ladies adjusting their clothing as well and suppressed another grin. ~Black Nate~ A ship in a puddle is better than no ship at all Dear Saint Brendan, to mention your name is to recall much travelling. Jacky Tar Posted September 1, 2007 Posted September 1, 2007 "At ease Nate, yer part o' the party." I watched the ladies adjust their garments, an said, "Nate if ye'll escort Red Cat." I turned an offered me arm t' Ransom, "Let's see a little o' that lady like behavior." She smirked, an took me arm.

Roberts Posted September 1, 2007 Posted September 1, 2007 Silkie was being served by the time Roberts stumbled into the galley behind her. "I was beginin t'tink I had not let ya sleep long nough" she paused and looked at what was on her plate, hoped it was better than what Goose served, "Or maybe you had no hunger in ya." Silkie winked at the man then turned, "Get some food n'join me." Roberts stood a moment in the doorway decidin just wot it was he thought o th las who sat so confidently before him. At times she were shy an at others she downright unnerved him. His thoughts were interrupted by the smell o summin edible and he stalled his answer with just a hint of a smile. Roberts turned to fill his plate an tankard. Settlin at the galley table none too near, an none too far he stabbed a forkfull o meat an acted unaffected. "Thankee for wakin me Miss McDunnuh..Aye, I've had more n enough rest. This journey's been all too much talk.. a man needs sommat t' do lest he find trouble.." Wine, women, coin n song. Equal shares of each says I!
Black Nate Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 Red CAt stuck her tongue out at Jacky an grinned..but she took Nates arm wonderin wot adventure lay ahead.. Nate walked beside Red Cat, feeling her arm looped in his and kept a grin off his face. They walked into an estate, complete with guards and servants. Nate tried to relax, but he felt uncomfortable being surrounded by so much spanish. His other hand kept finding its way to either the hilt of his sword, or the but of his pistol. Every time he did that and realized it, Nate would quickly release it and lower his hand to his side. ~Black Nate~ A ship in a puddle is better than no ship at all Dear Saint Brendan, to mention your name is to recall much travelling. Red Cat Jenny Posted September 5, 2007 Posted September 5, 2007 Redc Cat sensed Nate fumblin nervously. She whispered out o th side o her mouth "Quit yer fidgetin!" at the same time she curtsied at a passing dignitary almos topplin as she were well outta practice in such things. The man made an odd face an moved on. Cat teetered back inta standin an threw a grin at Nate. Some days even my lucky rocketship underpants won't help.... Her reputation was her livelihood. Jacky Tar Posted September 5, 2007 Posted September 5, 2007 I glanced over me shoulder an saw Red Cat's attempt t' curtsy, "Will ye both relax! Red Cat ye just curtsied t' Navarro's wine steward." This remark caused Nate t' grin, again. "Nate, they'll be takin' our arms 'fore we are allowed in the dinin' room; so, say yer good-byes now." A worried look passed over Nate's face, which made Red Cat grin. Ransom seemed more poised then any o' us. She was even able t' tread lightly on the tiles in her boots an thus sustain her illusion o' the fashionably attired lady. I muttered, "We should hav left 'em in the carriage." She tugged my arm lightly in the direction o' the dining room, 'fore I could turn around. So many servants rushin' about, yet ours was the only carriage under the portico, they must be expectin' more guests.
Ransom Posted September 5, 2007 Posted September 5, 2007 Despite the boots, it amazed me how easily I could fall back into my old life's habits. Big, fancy parties, balls, formal dinners — forced down my throat until I was seventeen. Before everything in my life dramatically changed. Sometimes I missed those times, but mostly I didn't. However, it was a very nice feeling to be dressed like a lady, walking on Jacky's arm into a formal dining room, the table laden with good china, fine chrystal, and silver, while the flames of scented candles flickered in ornate silver candelabra. I gave Jacky a little wink and a smile, and we walked on. ...schooners, islands, and maroons and buccaneers and buried gold... Jacky Tar Posted September 5, 2007 Posted September 5, 2007 As promised, a large maitre d' stepped up an politely requested we check our arms. I handed the gent me pistol, an nodded t' Nate t' do the same. Wit' a pained expression on his face, he handed over his pistol an cutlass. I smiled an thanked the gentleman, an whispered t' Ransom, "We better get some food an drink in t' ol' Nate quickly, he looks as pale as a sheet."
Black Nate Posted September 5, 2007 Posted September 5, 2007 Nate was not happy to give up his arms. As he handed over the weapons he had a passing feeling he would not see them again. His only comfort was the knife at his side. It wasn't much, but it was something. He watched the man walk away with the weapons and barely heard others in his party talking. Nate heard something about food and drink and suddenly found himself very hungry. "Aye capin, somethin ta eat n' drink would be welcome, ma'am, sir." Nate looked to Red Cat and smiled nicely, not his usual grin. "Wot yer think thay be servin ta drink? Fancy spanish wine I'll wager. I'd be happy wit rum, or ol' Nate'd be happy wit beer." He followed the commodore and captain further into the realm of the Spanish, trying to remain calm as he noticed others around him still armed well. There were guards standing in pairs at some of the doorways with pole-axes and frills. Nate cleared his throat nervously and walked on. He found he had grabbed Red Cat's arm tighter, and only realized it when she peeled his fingers from her arm. He grinned at her and offered an apology, cleared his throat again and tried to remain calm. Looking heavenwards, "Father, why do ye put me in harms way?" A moment later he smiled. "Thank ya Father." He seemed to relax and walked with a bit more confidence. ~Black Nate~ A ship in a puddle is better than no ship at all Dear Saint Brendan, to mention your name is to recall much travelling. Red Cat Jenny Posted September 5, 2007 Posted September 5, 2007 Nate had been talkin and fidgetin summat e'er since they'd been mostly disarmed by th Spanish. Red Cat were busy studyin their surroundins. As always she liked ta have an escape plan at all times. Cat's hand went numb..she looked down t' see Nate had her arm in a clinch. She grasped his fingers which were strong as a lobster and pried em off throwin him a look. "Oi Nate, I be needin tha hand ta be workin thankee.." She felt a littl bad as he looked like a wee pup an she realized he mus be hungry. As he was talkin of spirits, as well as to em. "Ahhmm ye mentiond drink Mr. Durant" she smacked her lips "I b'lieve I could use summin meself" She looked around an spied the bar past tables full o meats, breads an cheeses "an it needn't be Spanish..aye" Th Cat grabbed 'Ol Nates arm this time and tugged him towards th other end o th hall. Black Nate Posted September 5, 2007 Posted September 5, 2007 Nate let Red Cat tug him along towards the other end of the hall, leaving Ransom and Jacky behind. As they approached the bar, the servant there looked curiously at them for an instant before assuming an aire of supremacy. On the table were many bottles of spirits. Nate ran his fingers across his freshly shaved chin and looked at Red Cat. "Ah, wot yer think? Think theys gots some Irish whiskey?" Red Cat shot him a look of uncertainty. "Guess I should jus stick ta rum then, aye?" Cat gave him the slightest of nods. "An wot is it ya be wantin ta drink?" Red Cat looked at all the bottles and casks. "Rum, a good choice, I'll ave th same." Nate grinned at her and his eyes danced. "Aye, Rum it is then." He looked the man behind the table straight in the eye and gave him a steeley look. "Dos Rums, Por favour." The servant's eyebrows went up for a moment and back down before he moved. He found a bottle of very dark liquid and two crystal goblets, filled them and set them on the far edge of the table infront of Red Cat and Nate. "Gracias." The wayward sailor picked up one goblet and presented it to Red Cat and picked up the other for himself. Nate bumped his goblet against hers and mumbled something in another language that was lost in the surrounding noise. he winked at her and took a drink of the spirits. His eyes slowly closed and he breathed in deeply. "Oh, at's fine, very fine, aye." ~Black Nate~ A ship in a puddle is better than no ship at all Dear Saint Brendan, to mention your name is to recall much travelling. Red Cat Jenny Posted September 5, 2007 Posted September 5, 2007 Red Cat found Nate amusin an wit a grin, accepted th goblet. They gave a small toast an Cat drank deeply, findin th rum smooth an to 'er likin. She leaned in an spoke t' th sailor in a low voice "Wot we need....'s th whole bottle" wit a grin an a wink she turned an gestured f' Nate t follow back towards whar Jack an Ransom be dissapearin.. Black Nate Posted September 6, 2007 Posted September 6, 2007 Nate had his goblet half drained when Red Cat gestured to where the commodore and captain were heading off to. He looked at the bottle from which the rum was poured and was tempted to grab it up, but decided against it. Nate offered his arm to the Cat again and with a much more relaxed nature they strolled over to the others. ~Black Nate~ A ship in a puddle is better than no ship at all Dear Saint Brendan, to mention your name is to recall much travelling. Black Nate Posted September 6, 2007 Posted September 6, 2007 Red Cat and Nate wandered up to the captain and commodore and Nate held up his goblet in a salute. "Commodore, capin, Ma'am. Now wots we gonna do? when are we ta dine wit alla these high-born ladies n lords?" Ol' Nate was much more relaxed, not so much from the rhum, but it didn't hurt. He looked at Red Cat and again gave a small grin and winked. He was pretty sure she were in a mood. Nate felt a little fun could be had here. Just had to wait for an opportune moment, and the blessings of the Almighty. ~Black Nate~ A ship in a puddle is better than no ship at all Dear Saint Brendan, to mention your name is to recall much travelling. Red Cat Jenny Posted September 6, 2007 Posted September 6, 2007 Red Cat was gettin impatient wit all the wanderin. Her cup were dry and her stomach began t' complain despite the tightness o her stays.. "Oi! Jacky! where are we t' go...r' should we jes stand 'ere lookin out o place?" she crossed her arms an waited for a reply Some days even my lucky rocketship underpants won't help.... Raphael Navarro Posted September 7, 2007 Posted September 7, 2007 As I rushed in to the hall to greet my guests, I addressed them all, "Dé la bienvenida a mis amigos! Sorry I am late." I approached Jacky Tar, an a very attractive red haired woman, "Senor Tar, introdúzcame por favor a su compañero de la cena." He said something about a ransom, "SÃ, I am sure she was worth every penny, but what is her name?
Jacky Tar Posted September 7, 2007 Posted September 7, 2007 I chuckled, "Ella es Ransom!" Raphael still looked puzzled and proceeded t' kiss the back o' Ransom's hand. "Raphael, puedo introducir a capitán Ransom." Raphael looked even more amused wit' Ransom's title.
Raphael Navarro Posted September 7, 2007 Posted September 7, 2007 I heard what Jacky Tar said, but I was taken in by her appearance. "Ransom... Senor Tar, says you are a capitan. Perhaps you will capitan a ship for the Navarro's one day?" A grinning sailor an a short woman in a blue dress approached us, "Senor Tar, more members of your party?"
Jacky Tar Posted September 7, 2007 Posted September 7, 2007 I didn't respond immediately, I noticed the pair had found the drinks. "Si, Senor Navarro, Nate an the lass Red Cat are wit' me." Raphael found this amusin' as well and started t' chuckle.
Red Cat Jenny Posted September 7, 2007 Posted September 7, 2007 Th Spaniard in fancy dress seemed t' find a lil too much humor in his guests an when he chuckled at Red Cat an Nate she bristled. This time it were Nates turn t' pull her back afore she started summin. She managed a ladylike "Hmph! despite. Navarro seein th fire in her eyes kisssed th back o eher hand as well an she blushed makin Jacky chuckle. Nate started t smile, then thought th better o it. As they were escorted to a large table set with gleamin china an candlesticks, another small "hmph!" echoed... Some days even my lucky rocketship underpants won't help....
