Cheeky Actress Posted July 5, 2006 Posted July 5, 2006 Just wanted to note that this is the opening weekend for the Bristol Ren Faire located in Kenosha, WI (on the boarder between WI and IL). The big feature this year is a period correct ship of the Queen's fleet during the 1570s. Log on over to their website (www.renfair.com/bristol) and take a look! P.S. Love to see if I can't get a group together and venture down there for a weekend Member of "The Forsaken"

Jib Posted July 6, 2006 Posted July 6, 2006 Has anyone heard if the ship (Dreadnought) is a stage for only the cast or can patrons (and visiting preformers) take a tour?
Cheeky Actress Posted July 7, 2006 Author Posted July 7, 2006 Has anyone heard if the ship (Dreadnought) is a stage for only the cast or can patrons (and visiting preformers) take a tour? Looking at it from the Marketing Shots - It looks more like a stage, if this is true...the surrounding area will have to be a bit higher to get the full effect of the Ship and for the public to view the stage. It's big, considering the construction company in Oshkosh, WI moved it down via trailer (in several sections) to bring it to Kenosha, WI. Member of "The Forsaken"
Cap'n Pete Straw Posted July 7, 2006 Posted July 7, 2006 Elsewhere in the other aforementioned threads Bilgemunkey has a link to some photos he took of the ship being constructed. "He's a Pirate dancer, He dances for money, Any old dollar will do... "He's a pirate dancer, His dances are funny... 'Cuz he's only got one shoe! Ahhrrr!"
Cap'n Pete Straw Posted July 27, 2006 Posted July 27, 2006 In another thread (Bristol Renaissance Faire), I will post some pictures of the Dreadnought ship -- the subject of this thread. Or maybe I'll post some here, too. "He's a Pirate dancer, He dances for money, Any old dollar will do... "He's a pirate dancer, His dances are funny... 'Cuz he's only got one shoe! Ahhrrr!"

Cap'n Pete Straw Posted July 28, 2006 Posted July 28, 2006 Here are some promised pics of the Dreadnought... This would be Cap'n Pete Straw guarding... er... nothing: Mike Breza, Captain of the Dreadnought, actually drew up the plans for the ship which was assembled on site. The Dreadnought offers some good photo opportunities for ship-less pirates! I offer the following two examples as evidence... My daughter ("Elizabeth Morgan"): ... and my son ("William the Bloody"): "He's a Pirate dancer, He dances for money, Any old dollar will do... "He's a pirate dancer, His dances are funny... 'Cuz he's only got one shoe! Ahhrrr!"
Cap'n Pete Straw Posted July 28, 2006 Posted July 28, 2006 More aboard the Dreadnought... Breza has sest up a small mini-museum, with a few pirate exhibits, inside the ship. He plans to expand upon this throughout the summer, but he is off to a great start... In addition, there is a great activity for kids on deck, who can haul up a submerged treasure chest (just don't be standing on those coils of rope when you let go!) Merrydeath Posted July 28, 2006 Posted July 28, 2006 oh goodness.. he's soo cute.. yes Pete I mean you.. gah. I mean your son!! He's the spit image of you, and the ship looks grand.. Can't wait to see it... Pirate Lass with sass, brass, a cutlass, an a nice *ss. Capt of the FOOLS GOLD PIRATES BLAST BREAST CANCER!
