^My favourite piece of jewellery at the moment is a costume piece -- a stretchy cuff bracelet made up of large oval opaque petal-pink glass placques held together with strong elastics. Each placque is edged in silver-tone metal, and embedded in the glass is a real daisy. .Not the sort of thing you wear continuously, but I do wear it with many outfits. When the elastic finally breaks, I'll mourn its passing. It pairs very nicely with a rose-quartz rough bead necklace that I have

< I love your idea of a pirate-themed Xmas tree, Jenny. Today being St. Distaff's Day, we're taking down our tree and Xmas decorations. What a chore! And I really don't like most of the ornaments on our tree anyway (stocking gifts chosen by other people). I'm starting to cull them.

^ Yes - back in the day I used to clean sewers and storm drains. 1982 and 1983 had horrible El Niño winters - houses sliding down hills, flooding, roads collapsing. I spent both of those winters working 16-20 hour days clearing out draining systems to prevent more of that happening.

^I dreamed I was at a large party and was having trouble following the conversation (social anxiety nightmare).

< Matt asked: "What can you teach other people to do?"

And Jenny answered: "Travel intelligently."

Oh, teach me, teach me! I'm useless at travelling. I have panic attacks in airports and on planes. I get motion sick. My luggage is always slightly overweight (kinda like its owner). However, I'm a great navigator with map and compass, and I love researching out-of-the-way places beforehand and planning a uniqe itinerary. I'd love to travel more extensively and see exotic parts of the world (although I'm not temperamentally suited to adventure).

V Like Cinderella, I'm going to a ball next week, set in the Regency period. What balls or lavish formal events have you attended? Descriptions are great and photos even better!

/\ The next time anyone sees ald Morgan wearin' a suit n tie they'd best be shuttin' the lid an shovelin' dirt.

< Wonderin' who in the blazes sized this Simplicity pattern pirate shirt? The shoulder seams are down nears me elbows an the sleeves (without the cuffs an frills) are near me knees. Even Hulk Hogan would look like a scarecrow in this thing. The vest worked out fine with a few inches parsed offen the waist.
