JoshuaRed
Just got my quarterly copy of the Mickey Monitor (annual passholder newsletter that Disney sends out) and it's got some great info on the ride updates, and other things being added at Disney. The article confirms that the ride storyline is being revamped to have Barbossa laying seige to the town on the Pearl, trying to flush Jack out of hiding...because only Jack knows where the treasure is hidden. Jack will pop up throughout the ride. There will also be a ghostly (hologram) apparition of Davy Jones' tentacled mug floating in the air that your boat passes thru. Apparently there will also be a real life Jack Sparrow hanging out in Caribbean Plaza from the rides reopening thru August, who will teach pirating tips to the kids! And as if that wasn't enough, the world's largest Disney Store at the Downtown Disney Marketplace is opening an exclusive pirate area in the store called the Adventure Room. There will be an Audio Animatronic pirate to greet you there called Rusty Blade. In this shop you'll be able to create your own pirate skull (with various POTC head decorations and accessories), create your own pirate hat, and fill your own treasure chest with trinkets and jewels. So it's gearing up to be a pira-tastic summer in Disney....woohoo!!
sirhenrymorgan
The Adventure Shop is already open in the Marketplace. It's by the stage area. -- Henry "Land only holds promise if men at sea have the courage to fight for it." - Sir Henry
JoshuaRed
Is that the room where all the pirate stuff is? Basically a smaller version of the Pirates Bazaar? It'll be cool once Rusty Blade is there...unless he's there already. I haven't been there since last fall.
