Keith Richards has brain surgery: report May 8, 2006 - 6:45AM Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards. Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards. Photo: AFP AdvertisementAdvertisement Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards is believed to have had surgery for a blood clot in his brain, and there are concerns about his condition. It is understood the 62-year-old's condition was much more serious than previously reported and he remains in New Zealand while the rest of the Rolling Stones are gathered in Europe for the next leg of the band's world tour, according to news reports. The operation was for a subdural haematoma, a blood clot that forms in the outer membranes of the brain, often from a torn vein. It can be caused by a fall or other head injury. The operation was performed soon after he arrived in New Zealand from Fiji. His condition was described at the time as a mild concussion. Richards' New York-based publicist Fran Curtis denied earlier reports that he had suffered a brain haemorrhage. She said that he was in "good spirits" and was adamant he would join the rest of the band in Barcelona for the kick-off of the 35-gig tour as scheduled on May 27. She did not know when he would be leaving New Zealand. Richards is believed to have fallen from a coconut tree at the exclusive Wakaya Club resort in Fiji on April 27. - NZPA
Arthur Richards from Kent Posted May 8, 2006 Posted May 8, 2006 yes I heard this this morning and the tour suppose to re-start in spain is now postponed a month! Touch somebody you don't know today with a smile.
Black Syren Posted May 9, 2006 Posted May 9, 2006 I had heard before he fell from the tree that he had an accident on the jet ski and thus the head injury. My question is what the hell was he doing in a coconut tree to begin with? http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v519/Dara286/trident01-11.png If you got a dream chase it, cause a dream won't chase you back...(Cody Johnson Till you Can't)
