what happened to the pelican? that ship is gorgeous!

i was on the piers when the tallships came into ny harbor on july 4th of 1976. it was a like a ringside seat with no oone to spoil the view.

when i was about 9 a portugese ship was docked at the brooklyn piers and my grandparents took me to tour it. i think the neatest thing to me (then at least) were all the hammocks the sailors slept in. it was the first time i had ever been on a ship.

with faith, trust and pixiedust, everything is possible ;)

if it be tourist season, why can't we shoot them?

I know there's more, but these are the ones I could remember setting foot on, and not even all of them. I've sailed a few of them, and worked on a few of the others. I fear if I put any more pictures in this post, then it will be too large.

Coastie ;)

Note: OK I did try to post too many images. I'll split this into two posts.

She was suffering from wood rot and she sank. I contacted the owners to see what could be done about a month ago, but they informed me that too much of her was destroyed by the flow of water to salvage.
