CaptainCiaran
I jes returned from a 3-week holiday with me treasured heartie up in Newfoundland. And shiver me timbers, me newfie pals 'screeched' me whilst I was there! Aye, indeed I did kiss the cod (believe me I've kissed worse things than that!) and drank the fiery rum. I now have a framed certificate which reads: "This is to certify that Ciaran of North Carolina has consumed on this day, the 7th of January in the year 2006, some of Newfoundland's golden elixer. The bearer of this certificate is hereby enrolled in the Royal Order of Screechers." So, in celebration, mates, drink up! This one be on me! CaptainCiaran
It be a Jamaican rum imported to Canada, where it be distilled in Newfoundland. It's 40% alcohol, but fer me that was strong enough...burned like hell going down! William Blydes
Was it an actual Caad? (Newf accent). That there more-ee-tory-um still be in place.... I got screeched in years back. A real hoot of a time that I don't remember the end of... Became much of a blur I just got back from Halifax. Spend some great time at the 'Lower Deck' pub singing east coaster songs. Many Keith's Pale Ales were had.... William Blydes I don't get lost, I EXPLORE! Adventures on the High Seas (refitted and back on station!) CaptainCiaran
Aye, it were indeed a real cod, albeit frozen. Arr, Halifax be a great harbour city with such a rich (and sometimes tragic) history. I've been to 'er a couple times and enjoyed each visit. Aye I, too, has to have the Alexander Keith's pale ale when'er I be in the Maritimes. It sure be a lot smoother than Screech. LOL Cheers to ye, Mister Blydes!
