I took yer advice, Royaliste. Fer just a few bucks, got me a dowel, some copper wire, some wood stain, and some 3/16 cotton rope. I want to do a better one, but this will be OK fer the weekend at the Battlefield. I'm using it - this time - just for a prop at my little cannon that I'm not going to be firing - we WILL be firing the big ones - so won't even bother turning the rope into slow match. THIS time! :)

Good on ya, mate!...Nothin' better 'n livin'your history, eh?...If you decide to go the slow match route,(heck, can't beat the aroma therapy!)..The longer you soak the cord in the gunpowder/water mix, and the drier you get it after, the better it works!...Enjoy...We do!
