Deadeye
One that I really like is Rum mixed with Woodchuck Green Apple Cider. I also have been known to pour a bottle of Private stock into a crockpot, add 3 fresh-cut granny smith apples and cinnimon sticks, and let stew for about 3 hours, pour into a mug with honey and it makes a delicious Rum Cider! - 10 Fathoms Deep on the Road to Hell... cap'n no-beard
this is digressing slightly as it has no rum in it but makes a good cocktail though it sounds revolting and is easy to make 2 parts absinthe 2 parts jose cuervo 1 part blackcurrent barley-water juice 3 parts water (optional but recomended)
capnwilliam
Was period grog served hot or cold? The modern recipes seem to point to a hot drink, and it sounds to me as though it would be better that way: but my question is, how WAS it served to the crew? Capt.
