blackjohn Posted September 13, 2005 Posted September 13, 2005 Nice! That cartridge box (which is from the Phips wreck, which I'm pretty sure we've talked about before) looks alot like the one from the Whydah. Here's the link to the Phips wreck: http://www.mcc.gouv.qc.ca/pamu/champs/arch...ips/wreck01.htm My Home on the Web The Pirate Brethren Gallery Dreams are the glue that holds reality together.
Longarm Posted September 13, 2005 Posted September 13, 2005 This is a great link! How did you find it? And are there others like it covering different events and time periods? I love the smell of gunpowder in the morning. To me it smells like....PIRACY!

Captain Midnight Posted September 14, 2005 Posted September 14, 2005 Wow! Those sites are incredible! I am particularly interested in the cartridge box, which is very similar to the one found in the wreckage of the Whydah. Does anyone know exactly how the inner wooden supports for the pouch were constructed? I wonder if there are any other original examples of these types of cartridge pouch with the wooden pieces intact, so we could see how they are made and put together? "Now then, me bullies! Would you rather do the gallows dance, and hang in chains 'til the crows pluck your eyes from your rotten skulls? Or would you feel the roll of a stout ship beneath your feet again?" ---Captain William Kidd--- (1945)
