I'm making a couple of tricorns and am not sure whether to sew on the wool tape edge trim before or after steaming/tacking the brim. What are the pros/cons? TIA!

It's been awhile, but believe I've always done it once it was cocked. Pros... once it is up, you won't get any unexpected weird buckling of the trim. Cons... if it has been sewn up, it might be a bear getting around some of the tight spots where the brim touches the crown.
