MadMike Posted August 25, 2005 Posted August 25, 2005 I received my order of books from DeadMenTellNoTales.com today, which is comprised of the following titles- "A General History of the Pyrates" volumes 1 and 2. Much better than reading it online. "Captured by Pirates"- not for the squeamish. "The Buccaneers of America" by Exquemelin. 1684 edition. Yours, &c. Mike Pirates of Massacre Island http://www.geocities.com/flpyrate/index.html Try these for starters- "A General History of the Pyrates" edited by Manuel Schonhorn, "Captured by Pirates" by John Richard Stephens, and "The Buccaneers of America" by Alexander Exquemelin.
Monterey Jack Posted August 29, 2005 Posted August 29, 2005 Here's another that looks like it will be of use; in many areas it echos what we're teaching thru the HMCA at our boarding weapons seminars. Its not out yet, but I've preordered it and hope it'll broaden whet we're already doing as far as historical boarding weapons instruction. http://www.huntsvillefencingclub.org/Colla...at_int_info.htm Monterey Jack "yes I am a pirate 200 years too late, the cannons don't thunder, there's nothin to plunder, I'm an over-40 victim of fate, arrivin too late.........."
MadMike Posted August 30, 2005 Author Posted August 30, 2005 Monterey Jack, Looks interesting, especially given the author's background. Never mess with UDT or a SEAL! Yours, &c. Monterey Jack Posted August 30, 2005 Posted August 30, 2005 I figure to do a review of it for the HMCA site once its up and running; I can also post it here for those interested.
