guybrush Posted July 23, 2005 Posted July 23, 2005 So I was out walking my dog when I happened to stumble upon a Ren Faire going on this weekend (7/23-7/24). They were all setting up when I was walking by. I had no idea this was going on. There has been no mention of it anywhere! It's located at Heartwell Park off the corners of Carson and Clark. Can't miss it! I was unable to attain any further info, but if you happen to be doing nothing this weekend and you live in Long Beach - stop on by!
Rumba Rue Posted July 23, 2005 Posted July 23, 2005 You're right, I've never heard anything about it. I grew up in Long Beach and I know exactly where the park is. How strange, anyone else know about this faire?
guybrush Posted July 23, 2005 Author Posted July 23, 2005 Well I went down there again after they openedup- admission is free! There are a few little shops selling clothing and weapons, and a large Sword fighting / Archery tournament area. All are welcome to watch. If you live in the area it's worth a small trip to hang out gfor the day.
Rumba Rue Posted July 24, 2005 Posted July 24, 2005 Are you sure it's a Renaissance faire? Sounds more like an SCA event. Quite a few SCA events have people selling items and fighting tournements.
Killian Posted August 8, 2005 Posted August 8, 2005 The guild I used to be in used to attend that Faire, and yes it's a Faire, not an SCA event. Here are some pictures from 2000, form my old guild. http://www.tournamentproductions.org/photo...lb00/index.html
