hurricane Posted July 18, 2005 Posted July 18, 2005 Got this from Jamaica Rose this morning... if you're in the right area you could have a dream home... MONSTER HOUSE WANTS TO CREATE A PIRATE HOUSE *********************************** Ahoy all ye Pirates! The Discovery Channel reality series “Monster House” is currently planning a “Pirate” themed house for an upcoming episode of our show. We are scouring the seven seas in search of a homeowner willing to let their house be plundered by our Captain Steve Watson and his crew of Monster builders. Any Pirate who thinks he be worthy of such bounty, should go the Monster House website and download an application, and fax it to (818) 847-1096. Clearly mark that you are applying for the Pirate House episode, and make haste ye sea dogs, as time is short. http://www.monsterhouse.tv/apply.htm -- Hurricane ______________________________________________________________________ http://piratesofthecoast.com/images/pyracy-logo1.jpg Captain of The Pyrates of the Coast Author of "Memoirs of a Buccaneer: 30 Year Before the Mast" (Published in Fall 2011) Scurrilous Rogue Stirrer of Pots Fomenter of Mutiny Bon Vivant & Roustabout Part-time Carnival Barker Certified Ex-Wife Collector Experienced Drinking Companion "I was screwed. Black Hearted Pearl Posted July 18, 2005 Posted July 18, 2005 Alas I guess they don't want to do Phoenix in the summer. Can't imagine why? However, I have the best house to make a pirate house. They should reconsider. ~Black Hearted Pearl The optimist expects the wind. The pessimist complains about the wind. The realist adjusts the sails.
hurricane Posted July 19, 2005 Author Posted July 19, 2005 I heard that the pirate house is just for LA area residents... how sad... -- Hurricane -- Hurricane ______________________________________________________________________ http://piratesofthecoast.com/images/pyracy-logo1.jpg Captain of The Pyrates of the Coast Author of "Memoirs of a Buccaneer: 30 Year Before the Mast" (Published in Fall 2011) Scurrilous Rogue Stirrer of Pots Fomenter of Mutiny Bon Vivant & Roustabout Part-time Carnival Barker Certified Ex-Wife Collector Experienced Drinking Companion "I was screwed. Pew Posted July 28, 2005 Posted July 28, 2005 Bugger!!! The closest city is Atlanta.....a long ways from Baltimore... Aye me lady. 'Tis a long way from 'ere . . . . , Skull and Quill Society , The Watch Dog "We are 21st Century people who play a game of dress-up and who spend a lot of time pissing and moaning about the rules of the game and whether other people are playing fair."
Black Hearted Pearl Posted August 1, 2005 Posted August 1, 2005 Well, they have picked their pirate. Rum Annie Flint of Pirates-n-Plunder of Whittier Pirates-n-Plunder has been picked to have her house made over by Steve Watson and his band of contractors. Filming is sometime in August (hot time for a remodel). Let's all wish Rum Annie Flint fair winds and calm seas on her new adventure with Monster House. ~Black Hearted Pearl The optimist expects the wind. The pessimist complains about the wind. The realist adjusts the sails.
Black Hearted Pearl Posted August 15, 2005 Posted August 15, 2005 Alas, it appears as Rum Annie Flint has lost her bid for the Monster Pirate House as the City of Whittier not be acquienenceting to her request. That means no. It's a new house in Redding of unknown patronage. ~Black Hearted Pearl The optimist expects the wind. The pessimist complains about the wind. The realist adjusts the sails.
Killian Posted August 15, 2005 Posted August 15, 2005 If I am not mistaken they did an episode where they made what looked like the backend of a ship as the outer exterior. Hmmmm
Black Hearted Pearl Posted August 17, 2005 Posted August 17, 2005 From Jaimaca Rose Barton..................... Greetings lads and lasses, Aron Plucinski of Monster House called me earlier today with more particulars about the Pirate Monster House. The "pirates harrassing the builders" segment will be filmed on this Wednesday, at 2:30 pm. Filming will probably take about 1 hour, so you might want to arrive a little early to have time to park and find the right house. Come in garb, and bring swords or other weapons to poke at the builders with and threaten them. Bring costumed friends if you can. Monster House wanted lots of pirates. No one has yet told me they are bringing a parrot. The Monster House people were hoping parrots could attend. The target house is at this address: *** 18560 Lanark Street, Reseda, CA. I did not receive directions to the address, but when I MapQuested it, it seemed easy enough (if the MapQuest is accurate). When you arrive, just ask for Aron. I do not yet know the exact time for Sunday's "House Reveal" filming - but it is tentatively between 4 - 6 pm. I was hoping to come out for the Sunday House Reveal, but we also have a vendor's booth at the San Diego Festival of Sail on that day. So I'm not sure if I can get away. Would one of you like to volunteer to be the NQG roving reporter, to write up an article for No Quarter Given about the Pirate Monster House, in case I can't make it? Email me back if interested. The one selected to be the roving reporter with get NQG subscription credit (one year for every 650 words used). The air date for this episode is Oct. 10, Mon., on Discovery channel, at 8pm --Jamaica Rose ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~Black Hearted Pearl The optimist expects the wind. Black Hearted Pearl Posted October 5, 2005 Posted October 5, 2005 Arrrrgh! This coming Monday be the showing. ~Black Hearted Pearl The optimist expects the wind. The pessimist complains about the wind. The realist adjusts the sails.
Killian Posted October 5, 2005 Posted October 5, 2005 Thank you for reminding me, this one I really want to see.
tishsparrow Posted October 11, 2005 Posted October 11, 2005 it wasnt on. i checked. monster garage was on at nine, but something else was on at eight. so we watched hocus pocus on disney. that is like the best halloween movie ever made. my mom dressed as sarah last year to take my brothers trick or treating, and she got an awful lot of candy...
Pirate Petee Posted October 11, 2005 Posted October 11, 2005 I checked there web site and found nothing about a pirate house.
Rummy3 Posted October 12, 2005 Posted October 12, 2005 I checked around and the Pirate House was done for a friend of a friend - here's what I found out: (PLEASE NOTE _ THERE WERE NO PICS ATTACHED) Monster House Update...So they filmed it and it was supposed to air last Monday, but the producer called Mercy...Said they had moved the air date. actually they said they were unsure of the new air date. Seems they have wraped the seaon up and the are unsure when it will air again. Perhaps in January. Now the juicy stuff.... She got a new jacuzzi in the back yard. they put in in a giant skull. the lid of the skull raises and then you can get into it. They also built a giabnt ship wreck in the backyard with a bar in it and a cannon that shoots water into the pool. The last great addition is a flat scrren tv that raises out of a treasure chest in the living room. In all a good booty. But, the house was in awful shape for a bit. I have attached a few pictures for you to see. It was great fun to be a aprt of, I sure how it makes it to TV, we had fun having a little party in the bar recently. Believe you meee....I will let the world know when and if we ever get an air date. See ya soon...Escondido?
Pirate Petee Posted October 12, 2005 Posted October 12, 2005 MAn that sounds sooooo cool. One Day, One Day. :)
Black Hearted Pearl Posted October 13, 2005 Posted October 13, 2005 Perhaps we could start bombarding the Discovery channel website with requests to see the Monster House "Pirate House" edition. I have been a fan of Damon Stern's Monster House from the beginning. I think Monster House is feeling the pressure from Extreme Makeover Home Edition. In my mind, these are two totally different shows. However, it has become more difficult to catch Monster House and I even have my DVR set to catch them all. There's a chance it may never be aired unless we band together, as pirates do, and hold a sword to Discovery Channel's throat. Here is the contact information for Monster House through Original Productions. Rummy3 Posted October 13, 2005 Posted October 13, 2005 Thanks for the link, I sent them an e-mai through their contact link but it was rejected.
Black Hearted Pearl Posted December 14, 2005 Posted December 14, 2005 Monster House is back on and airing the newer episodes. No news yet on the new possible airdate for pirate house. If you haven't already or would like to do so again, please email discovery channel and tell them you want the Monster Pirate House. ~Black Hearted Pearl The optimist expects the wind.
