We're going ashore for provisions, gentlemen. I want empty barrels, canvas bags and slings, axes, and machetes loaded onto the Samson. Each man will carry a cutlass and pistol, and in addition, six of you will also carry a musket. Now, off with you. Load the barge and arm yourselves. You have until the next turn of the glass. Carry on.

My apologies Sir, Must have slipped my mind. In a rush to get a little Rest and relaxation and maybe a dip in the lagoon before the tides turn and the current becomes to strong, I was in mindset of me owen and beg forgiveness in absentmindeness of obeying your orders Sir

(Ciaran watches all the activities below on deck from his gulls-eye view from the crows nest. He keeps his spyglass scanning the horizon, noting the occasional passing of a ship far off on the horizon, but nothing coming toward the cove.)

I wonder if one of the most important steps on our journey is the one in which we throw away the map.

*approaches Jack* May I stow away on the barge? The Captain needs me to do some shopping in town, so I have need to get ashore.

"Very well, Mister Sons. Please make yourself known to Jack this morning. He has pressing duties on shore regarding much needed supplies for this ship.

And Mister Sons, please reserve your swims for those times when the crew is relieved of duty. I understand the draw of the lagoon. The air is good here, if not a little heady, and the water is clean, but rest and freedom from labor should come after the excercise of prudence.

We shall have a good rest quite soon. Carry on, Mister Sons."

~Shipwreck John  appears on the Main deck after  being ashore the day before looking for  pearls, beads and shells to trade with the Natives.  Finding nothing of value  he  reutrned to his bunk  and had a good rest during the night. he  now arises from his Hammock and makes his way to the Main deck to enjoy the sunrise.~

"Good Morning Deigo"  John says as he peers into the blue lagoon

Aye good morrow as well John! Storm brewin! I can feel it in me bones seems they always ache the day afore!

Cabin boy! I heard yer request and I have no problem with yer requestin the transport I does find it most neccessary that ye go with another as orders call! Take Ciaran when he is off duty in the crows nest won't you?

Captain! We're about to get under way for provisioning. Is it agreeable to you to allow Mr. Sons and Miss Smith to join us? If she must go into town, she can purchase the additional rope we require. And Mr. Sons could provide escort. What say you, sir?

Yo ho ho! Or does nobody actually say that?

If ye be goin' ashore, I'd be happy to help load my purloined casks of rum, as well as show ye all to the goats! And, I be a hell of a good shot, should ye be wantin' to dine on wild pork this eve...

:: Jack smiles to Miss Smith ::

Then by all means, please join us! Now, Mr. Sons and Mr. Morgan; have ye sought the Captains permission to be going ashore? This is a ship's barge, not a hansome cab. I could use the extra backs for gathering firewood, straw, and sand. But not unless the Captain approves so many hands being off the ship at once.

Yo ho ho! Or does nobody actually say that?

"Mister Sons and Mister Morgan have my permission to go ashore. Mister Sons may join Miss Smith and Mister Muller in town and further the acquisition of rope there. Take Mister Morgan with your scouting party. You have my permission to bring back any game shot in the jungle there.

And Jack. Be mindful of snakes."

Fair enough, then. Arm yourselves, and extra powder and shot, especially for yourself, Mr. Morgan. We shall be in the water and ready to depart by the time you make it back topside.

All right, men, heave!!

:: The barge swings up and clear of the ship, and is lowered quickly and efficiently into the water. The lines are crisply tied off, and the barge crew take their positions in the boat. Jack stands by and makes sure his additional passengers are fitted out and assists them into the boat. He joins them, and the barge departs for the shore. They arrive at their destination some 20 minutes later, and the respective parties go about their tasks::

Well now Rummy. Seeins ya found me e're wit Cut Throat. I got me a bit o tyme while he be unwrappin his new item and inspectin it. Now... what be on yer mind that I can do fer ya Lass?

Jonathan walks Rummy a few paces away so they can talk.

I been wantin ta talks to ya about where we be with th' repairs of the Longboat and the Watch Dog... the men have fitted the deck and side planking perfectly. Beautiful mahogany we've used. Caulkers then plugged up the holes between the planks and now the surface is so smooth it appears almost seamless now. Just imagine her speed~ I do so like tas imagine her on the open sea agains, I do!

"Well, Rummy, Lass... as far as me work bout the ship it be caught up, unless thar be more people a wantin I dona know bout. I inspected nary each inch meself ana forged new metal fer any part looking ta be less then sea worthy. Red has been seein ta followin that up as well. Sos ya cana put yer mind at ease on them thoughts I says. "

Mr Hawks looks ta Rummy, and has a feeling in his mind that she has something up her sleeve she would like him to do for her. He waits patiently slowly twirling his hat in his hand.

William goes to stand near the rail, where even now, Armand and the Doctor are in conversation.

"Good morning, Doctor. A fine morning. I wonder if we may speak at length some time today on the subject of French Captains?"

Armand pauses in conversation at the Captain's arrival, nod's acknowledgment and moves further down the rail in respect. The Surgeon turns to face William as he nears, loosing the casual stance to give him full attention.

"Good morning, Doctor. A fine morning. I wonder if we may speak at length some time today on the subject of French Captains?"

" And a good morning to you, as well and I must agree to your observation of this day's condition...."

She raises a brow slightly to the Capitain's subject matter of query.

" I am sure such a thing could be accomodated, though I cannot claim to be any expert in the ways of the military...But, I should be happy to aid you in any way I can. Perhaps in the cool of evening, that seems to be when thing's come to a dull roar here abouts...Though I am at your service whenever you are at leisure..."

"Thank you, Doctor. This evening will be fine."

...

William walks about the ship on inspection.

First he finds Mister Youngblood at the inspection of the guns, powder and stores. The powder is still well preserved and dry; a condition that will no doubt suffer a little once the Watch Dog is on the ocean. The ammunition is securely stored and the Master Gunner has made good use of the space for the swabs, worms and ramrods. All of them are well placed out of the way of the ship's day to day traffic.

"Very good, Mister Youngblood. Very fine work here."

William paces the gun deck for a time, bent a little to inspect the seams and seals of the deck planking. He runs a hand over the work there.

"My compliments, Rummy. This is excellent work. You've put new life into her, Master Carpenter, that is certain. May I inquire after the condition of the longboat?"

:: Mr. Lasseter, after a busy morning looking thru the papers of the previous shipsmaster, and going over the list of supplies garnered, it was time to make his way topside, but not after making a pass through the ship... He made his way through the lower decks, checking the stores, throught the lower crew space...::

*with an exasperated sigh* Ah fer.... will they never learn.... Well, Mr. Sons will be sleepin' on th' deck this eve...

:: he takes down the sailor's hammock, rolls it into a cylinder and takes it to the armoury, placing it with the other hammocks that had been left up... He then made his way topside, acknowledging the crew as he went...

He sees the Captain speaking with the carpenter ::

"My compliments, Rummy. This is excellent work. You've put new life into her, Master Carpenter, that is certain. May I inquire after the condition of the longboat?"

::seeing as they are in conversation, he would find out about the Longboat from the Captain later...... He proceeded aft, up and onto the quarterdeck, looked about, from ship to sea to shore, noting the barge pulled up on the sand... he drew his glass from the pocket of his wesket, peering through it and seeing all was well with the barge, the crew in the woods gathering the necessary supplies, a distant report from a musket is heard from roughly that direction.... The QM continues to sweep the beachhead and as far inland as he can... no other sounds of battle come...::

Musta got some game... fresh meat'll be well recieved....

:: after a few moments more, he collapses his glass, stands at the rail surveying the activities aboard, letting his mind drift to recent happenings...::

*talking to himself, a barely audible whisper*

Fresh supplies comin aboard.... plenty aboard.... could make a run ta th' Orient wi' wot we gots.... crews shapin' up well enough... ship's in grande shape... fightin' trim...

:: His mind wanders further into the depths ::
