I came across this, man oh man isn't that a load of beauty!

Atlantic's top ten Tallships

I can't wait for Sail Amsterdam, this year there's going to be 20 Tallships and 500 historical steam and sailing boats.

This one particular Dutch one i love, it's there along with other Dutch ships under the motto "Hollands Glory"

Thalassa

Sorry, just in Dutch but click on the pics to get to a magnificiant gallery

Great list, Charity! Thank ye fer posting it.

I was happy to see a favourite of me own -- The Bluenose II, under the Nova Scotian section. Have seen that sleek vessel twice now in Lunenburg, NS.

I wonder if one of the most important steps on our journey is the one in which we throw away the map.

Got photos of the Constitution a couple years ago as it sailed back into Boston Harbor. Staked out a sweet spot at the very bow of the destroyer moored next door, and emptied a few rolls of film as she sailed back in. Most unbelievable photos.

but...they also forgot The Oldest, Baddest of All or at least in my humble opinion.......

And at 220 feet, I believe she holds the record for tallest mast height in the world. Being aloft on Eagle a few years back pulling into Boston, I must assert that 220 feet is MUCH greater than 147'

Coastie

She was bigger and faster when under full sail
