Arthur Richards from Kent Posted May 10, 2006 Posted May 10, 2006 HELP! Touch somebody you don't know today with a smile.
Rogue Mermaid Posted May 24, 2006 Author Posted May 24, 2006 Alas, the thread has been dead for several weeks now. Here's a some kinda easy and cheesy 80's lyrics to ponder: Am I a fool, at least my friends think so Que sera sera
Arthur Richards from Kent Posted June 6, 2006 Posted June 6, 2006 did people actually listen to new music in the 80's it's probably depressed mode Touch somebody you don't know today with a smile.
Rogue Mermaid Posted June 6, 2006 Author Posted June 6, 2006 It was Lisa Lisa & Cult Jam - "Lost in Emotion" Here's a different one, a very easy one: Just look at the world around you, Down here on the ocean floor, Such wonderful things surround you, What more is you looking for?...
Mad Matt Posted June 7, 2006 Posted June 7, 2006 Under the Sea - from Little Mermaid Do I get flogged fer knowin' that? You will be flogged. And God willing, come morning, you will be flogged some more.
Rogue Mermaid Posted June 7, 2006 Author Posted June 7, 2006 Yup, you get one free flogging .... and you get to give out the next set of lyrics
Mad Matt Posted June 8, 2006 Posted June 8, 2006 Night-time sharpens, heightens each sensation . . . Darkness stirs and wakes imagination . . . Silently the senses abandon their defences . . . Slowly, gently night unfurls its splendour . . . Grasp it, sense it - tremulous and tender . . . You will be flogged. And God willing, come morning, you will be flogged some more.
Rogue Mermaid Posted August 8, 2006 Author Posted August 8, 2006 Well after two months with no answer I'd say you stumped everyone Matt. I'm just going to throw out a new set of lyrics to get things moving (hopefully): Josie's on a vacation far away Come around and talk it over So many things that I'd like to say You know I like my girls a little bit older
Hester Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 Night-time sharpens, heightens each sensation . . . Darkness stirs and wakes imagination . . . Silently the senses abandon their defences . . . Slowly, gently night unfurls its splendour . . . Grasp it, sense it - tremulous and tender . . . Phantom of the Opera, "Music of the Night" ... which if funny, because I'm not much of a Webber fan, but I just saw Christine's post about PotO in Vegas. However, Rogue Mermaid does indeed have me stumped. Cheers, Hester

Hester Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 Go ahead an post a new set of lyrics Hester.I always think mine are easy and 50% of the time I'm wrong. One of these days I'll figure out that I'm the only one who likes 80's pop Hi, Rogue: Geez ... 80's pop should be right up my alley, but I'm still stumped ... although my taste is to the alternative side of the genre, and across the pond. Okay, let's see what I can come up with from that era: I saw two shooting stars last nightI wished on them but they were only satellites It's wrong to wish on space hardware I wish, I wish, I wish you cared Cheers, Hester
PirateSSe Posted September 27, 2006 Posted September 27, 2006 "Robert De Niro's waiting, talking Italian." I love my 80's!
Hester Posted September 28, 2006 Posted September 28, 2006 I saw two shooting stars last nightI wished on them but they were only satellites It's wrong to wish on space hardware I wish, I wish, I wish you cared Oops, sorry, I forgot I'd left that set of lyrics hanging before I went away on vacation for a month. Since no-one got it during that time, I'll end the suspense and tell you that it was Billy Bragg's "A New England" (also covered in the 80's by the late Kirsty MacColl). I had to google Piratesse's quote. The answer surprised me, because I remember the group but not that song. Anyhow, I won't give it away ('cause googling is cheating), but I think I'll look it up on BearShare to hear what it sounds like. Cheers, Hester
Rogue Mermaid Posted January 9, 2007 Author Posted January 9, 2007 The last post was from last September, so I'm going to attempt to resurrect the lyrics game. Here's a new set of lyrics: Whats got you so jumpy? Why cant you sit still, yeah? Like gasoline you wanna pump me And leave me when you get your fill, yeah It's been awhile. So if you are new to the game here is how it works: 1. Someone posts a set of lyrics 2. Everyone guesses what song the set of lyrics belongs to (try not to just google it) 3. The person who posted the set of lyrics says who guessed the song correctly. 4. The person who guessed correctly posts the new set of lyrics.
Boots MacGee Posted January 11, 2007 Posted January 11, 2007 That would be POISON Unskinny Bop I believe (big hair flashback) Here's mine: Rainbows are visions But only Illusions And rainbows have nothing to hide May the winds of fortune sail you May you sail a gentle sea May it always be the other guy who says "this drinks on me" http://www.susquehannarangers.com/
Red-Handed Jill Posted January 11, 2007 Posted January 11, 2007 "Rainbow Connection" from The Muppet Movie, I believe. Here's mine: Peeling the skin back from my eyes, I felt surprised that the time on the clock was the time I usually retired to the place where I cleared my head of you; but just for today, I think I'll lie here and dream of you.

The Doctor Posted March 17, 2007 Posted March 17, 2007 Now if you have a taste for this experience, And you're flushed with your very first success; Then you must try a twosome, or a threesome And you'll find your conscience bothers you much less. Because murder is like anything you take to. Its a habit-forming need for more and more. You can bump off every member of your family, And anybody else you find a bore... Yo ho ho! Or does nobody actually say that?
