BriarRose Kildare
feelin' lucky that my guardian angel and my son's guardian angel was with us this morning. Why, what happened to you? Are you both okay? We are okay...but it was a brief moment of terror. Here's what happened: Finally over my scare from this morning. Was almost in a very bad accident. I was sitting at a light and was turning left. The vehicle across from me on the other side was sitting at a light and was turning right on to the same street. To be courteous I remained turning in to the left lane so the other driver could turn in to the right lane. Unfortunately she continued over in to my lane almost broadsiding me and the wee lad. I hit the horn and she never even noticed. I had no where to go due to other vehicles parked along the street. There is no way she could miss my big ass jeep and not hear the horn blasting. I still do not know how the accident didn't happen. All I could see was her coming directly in to my lane, my son in the back seat and no where to go with my vehicle. Perhaps a Guardian Angel was there because for a moment time stood still. (Sorry I copied and forwarded this from another thread.) Red-Handed Jill
Even after all these years, I'm still surprised at how many oblivious people there are. Some people should not be allowed to drive. Glad you and the lad are okay!

Ransom
Say an extra prayer of thanks to those guardian angels! So glad to hear you and the lad are okay, and no one hurt. Hester
Slightly less fatigued today thanks to the Time Change and the bright sunshine. Oh, so I guess the past two months were SAD after all!
Christine
BriarRose, I'm glad to hear you and your son are okay. There really are some nutty people in this world and what's even scarier is that they drive! Hester, good to hear you're doing well. I agree how sunshine can definitely help make a person feel better. And this is coming from a pale person! I've been out and about taking care of some errands. It's such a beautiful day, such a shame I gotta go to work later. I put in my Alice in Wonderland costume to get a few alterations. I had a new one made, it's a replica of the ones they use at Disneyland. The apron tho was slightly too big and I wasn't too happy about the sleeves. My seamstress pinned up what I want fixed. It's going to look so awesome when it's done, I can't wait! Also, I made an appointment with my doctor to get a check-up to make sure everything is going okay. They couldn't schedule me until next Thursday. I'm otherwise doing okay. The feeling in my knees is gone, thank goodness. I started propping up my legs on a little pillow when I sleep. That seems to be working. I also got a different pillow and that's helping too.

Capt. Sterling
Tired... time to step back and honestly rethink about something... a lot. Tired of always having to take the fall and ending up being bad mouthed for only trying to help someone you truly cared about... Time to let go and move on? Yes, I think so... Capt. Sterling
Cool! The hawk that hunts on our property has just dropped a beautiful tail feather for my hat. Now to work it into a character nickname... Hmmm Hawkeye? Nah, already been used, besides being blind in one eye, I can't claim the superlative vision of the grand bird. The Hawk? bloody hell how feking corny is that? "I being shot through the left cheek, the bullet striking away great part of my upper jaw, and several teeth which dropt down the deck where I fell... Christine
I need to stop being so nice and friendly, it seems to get me in trouble! I always act this way with everyone, but someone let their feelings for me take over. The problem is this person is a resident at my work. He's a little bit younger than some of the regular residents. Late 50s, early 60s. He's in a motorized wheelchair, he had got injured from a surfing accident and never was the same since. The main reason why he moved to the facility was to keep an eye on his mother who is in the alzheimer unit. He and his mom moved in some years back. He's friendly with all staff, a nice guy and easy to talk to. Kind of nice-looking as well, but I always just kept things on the professional level like I do with all the residents. I'm friendly, it's just my nature, but I keep things cool. Well, over time of him hanging around I guess he just liked being around me at the front desk. I never thought much of it, I'd keep busy with my work. Lately tho hints have been dropped, it's becoming a bit more obvious. I continued to play the oblivious role thinking if nothing is going on it'll stay that way. Yeah, I know, naive, but I don't need anymore extra stress in my life than I already have. Well, today he said something that made it obvious. I usually open the service elevator for him so he can head up to the ALZ unit after dinner each day. He said as I was getting the elevator, "ya know, if I wasn't in this chair and if I was a little bit younger....." he then let the rest just trail off and gave his usual playful smirk. I played my dumb blonde card, laughed it off, said good night and headed back to the desk. In the back of the mind tho I said, "Oh, shit!" I have never been threatened by this guy, everything has been innocent, but ugh, I just don't know how this happened or how I let it happen. I made sure to always keep things on a professional level. I never dropped signals! Damn! Well, I'm going to just continue my oblivious, non-chalant attitude. I talked with my co-worker about it, one I can trust with things like this. She said how she wasn't surprised because he talks about me to her on my days off. He doesn't think too much of my guyfriend Wally as well. Ugh!!!! And another fun thing, the 17 year old guy from the kitchen, he's one of the waiters seems to be crushing on me as well. I'm almost 15 years older than him and he hangs around my desk like a little puppy! He told me the other day on he had a dream with me in it where he and I went to an American Idol audition. He and I talk about American Idol quite often when he comes to the desk. As soon as he said he had a dream with me in it, I thought, oh, crap! Again, I'm doing all I can to keep things innocent with this one too. Ugh, I need a long vacation away from work, been working so many crazy hours as it is!
