Cap'n Conrad
A historical re-enactment (no Tricorns please) of the Sack of St. Augustine. Searle's Buccaneers website is the site for more info. The event last year, featured a re-enactment of the looting down the main street, (no weapons drawn please...ya might hurt the tourists) fighting the Spanish during their rear guard escape to their fort, represented by the reconstruction of the Santo Domingo redoubt near the city gates. A few pike charges at the redoubt, exchanges of musket fire, then a march down to the plaza to parlay for the exchange of kidnapped wimmin for supplies and provisions. After the action, it's back to the Pirate Encampment set up on the grounds of the Fountain of Youth Archeological park, site of the first village at St. Augustine and some Indian cemetaries (remains since reburied...) for the jollification, featuring smoked turkey, smoked ham, cheese, oysters roasted over an open pit fire (or eaten raw...yum!) and adult beverages ... Hope to see some of y'all there....bring yer canvas and camp out, or arrange for discounted lodging at The Pirate Haus Inn.

capnwilliam
Looks like a great event; but we'll be at Fort Gaines (Dauphin Island, AL) for Colonial Days the same weekend. Tricorns, ye say? We can't get our own Baratarians to stop wearin' 'em for the Battle of New Orleans reenactment (1815). What IS it with pirates and tricorns? Capt. William "The fight's not over while there's a shot in the locker!"
Shaelyn Remick
Mmmmm.. St. Augustine one of my favorite citys to plunder in anyway, but considering you've got two more pirates lurking down in Orlando chances are we'll show up. This is one of those things that requires "sign-up" don't it?
