We came up with some Piratical verses to the tune of “Cape Cod Girls”, Sort of a Pyrate news wire take on the oldie, if ye will. Any one else game enough to add another, or two? Old Ed Teach has lost his head Heave away, heave away He’s run aground and now he's dead (repeat chorus) Heave away, heave away Heave away, me bully, bully boys Heave away, heave away Heave A-w-a-y Why, doncha’ make a noise-- We’re bound for PORT-LAND-IA Sweet Anne Bonny has slipped the noose Heave away, heave away She had the bairn, and now she’s loose Young Mary Read , was quite the sailor Heave away, heave away She plead her belly, but it didn’t save her Good ‘ole Sam has lost the Wydah Heave away, heave away Should have left the account, while he still could’a Thomas Tew has lost his chest Heave away, heave away Now it’s on display in old Key West Old Gov.
