Christine Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 Great pix! Looks really pretty there. I love faires that have a lot of trees, the whole woodsy atmosphere, it's so pretty! :)
Cpt Sophia M Eisley Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 Heads in to the Tsunami Kate, a weathered leather rucksack at my side. I disappear to the kitchen to find myself a plate... A few minutes later...I take a seat at a table bathed in the glow of the setting sun, smiling weakly as I take a fork to a cool, sweet summer treat... *pauses to pay compliment* Those are great pictures, Mercenary Wench. Reminds me of the faires I've gone to, and hope to partake in in the future. Perhaps we'll meet again under better circumstances. ---(---(@ Dead Men...Tell No Tales. Welcome, Foolish Mortals...
TortugaWench Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 Nice pics, Merc. The bodice of your gown looks simple yet speaks volumes of what you partook in. Glad to hear you enjoyed yourself. I've never been to a ren-faire (cries) but me and some mates are aiming for next year when it comes around again at our... Renaissance Center. I think they do a pirate weekend, but I'm not sure. If not, we're at least gonna attend the other aspects of the faire.

Tudor MercWench Smith Posted August 25, 2005 Posted August 25, 2005 Great Pictures, what Faire is that? PA renfaire - only a short 30-45 minutes from home!
CaptainCiaran Posted August 25, 2005 Posted August 25, 2005 (eyes glazing over) Tim Horton's. Oh my god, I need a double chocolate Tim Horton's doughnut from Canada right now. Tudor MercWench Smith Posted August 26, 2005 Posted August 26, 2005 Mercenary Wench, those pics are great.I love the ship Who build it if i may ask? Sorry - I missed your question earlier I'm not sure who built it. It is of course, not really a ship - nor was it ever, I'm sure. Just built to look like it, when the faire first opened, or shortly thereafter. It's one of the older parts of the faire. Just a faniciful shaped building to sell weapons out of.
The Doctor Posted August 26, 2005 Posted August 26, 2005 Talk about culinary torture... I've got a fridge full of Guinness, and I'm going to try out my own recipe for Cajun pizza tonight. Homemade Andouille sausage, sweet onions, garlic, bell peppers, and celery, topped with swiss and Gruyere cheese. :) I can't wait to get into the kitchen! Yo ho ho! Or does nobody actually say that?
CaptainCiaran Posted August 26, 2005 Posted August 26, 2005 Sounds yummy-licious, Jack! Hope it all be a great success. Tudor MercWench Smith Posted August 26, 2005 Posted August 26, 2005 Let's not talk about food - I can't find anything to eat *wanders off to the kitchen again*
William Brand Posted August 26, 2005 Author Posted August 26, 2005 I feel like some pasta with mushrooms and shaved almonds.
Tudor MercWench Smith Posted August 26, 2005 Posted August 26, 2005 *drives across three tables and five chairs and steals the plate from infron of william, and after scarfing it in an almost impossible speed, she looks up sheepish* - And I don't even like mushrooms and almonds!
CaptainCiaran Posted August 26, 2005 Posted August 26, 2005 And I don't even like mushrooms and almonds! William Brand Posted August 27, 2005 Author Posted August 27, 2005 William pours a glass of his finest. To the Logan City Police Department! I should explain. Earlier today my four month old son and I were on our way to the university to pick up my wife, I was struck by an SUV running a red light. I pulled over and stopped my car. The damage was minor, and I was grateful that neither Liam or I was hurt. The woman who struck us pulled over immediately and I phoned the police department on my cell phone. The woman looked at me while I was calling and she remained there while I was on the phone. I turned to check on Liam for the second time, but when I turned back, she was gone. Hit and run. A man walked up to me with his bike and informed me that he was nearly struck by the same driver. In fact, if he hadn't braked, he would have been run down. He had a partial license plate and the make and model of the car. The police arrived, took our information, and five hours later they showed up at my door with her insurance information. I asked them what happened. Evidently, the 60 year old woman left due to a "bathroom emergency". The officer didn't elaborate and I didn't ask him to. If they hadn't found her I'd be shelling out money to fix my car since I only have liability, not collision. The Moral of the Story: Always be sure to go before you leave on a drive.
CaptainCiaran Posted August 27, 2005 Posted August 27, 2005 (Ciaran raises his glass) Very happy that yer story has a happy ending William and that ye nor Liam were hurt. Most of the time I absolutely love driving, but every once in awhile it can be quite scary and ye realize how many near-misses and close calls we all have every day. Again, I celebrate yer happy ending. I wonder if one of the most important steps on our journey is the one in which we throw away the map. -- Loreena McKennitt My fathers knew of wind and tide, and my blood is maritime. -- Stan Rogers I don't pretend to be captain weird.
