William Brand
We have a fine mulled cider and a warm fireplace which should do nicely. We might also talk about warmer climates and sun drenched climbs.

William Brand
Every once in awhile there is a food request that makes me stare blankly into the abyss. This is one of those moments. Salted lard over rye toast with a chaser of liver dumpling soup...wow.
CrazyCholeBlack
Sorry Mr. Red Wake. Ye ken blame me papa fer tha odd taste buds. Here, let me back in tha galley fer a few bells n everyone'll 'ave a proper lesson in eastern European comfort food. A lard sandwich. Especially good with onions & plenty of salt on top on slightly stale toasted rye. With a side of liver dumpling soup of course. It has to have that one big dumpling though. The soups with lots of little dumplings aren't nearly as good. N ta finish cottage cheese (tvorog) with a drizzle of honey n some fruit if it's available. Yumm, happiness on a plate :) "If part of the goods be plundered by a pirate the proprietor or shipmaster is not entitled to any contribution." Silkie McDonough
Well. : :pokes at the dumpling that looks more like a meatball:: I suppose, if it is seasoned correctly... ::runs finger on the crust of the bread, takes taste of salty/oniony lard and gets an odd look on her face:: Ill try the dumpling, lard looks rather heavy on a delicate stomach, I'll pass on that and the acid reflux it will produce. The cottage cheese and fruit looks good I'll take that too.
Red Cat Jenny
Her face smeared with fruit and hunny, she sheepshly admits though she hates liver, she loves Foie Gras (Is that wrong? ) Now..if that dumpling were a matzoh ball.. I live in NY ..land of diner matzoh ball soup addicts.. But...her eyes drift back to the plate she has scraped clean and she dreams of hunny...may I have some more hunny? and maybe crackers to put it on?
