AliasGraceO'Malley
I am all the way on the opposite coast in Southern NJ. I have a 15yo son who is on a surfing conference in San Diego, staying at a Motel 6 in Carlsbad. He left on Saturday and we have not heard from him once. Now, this is not unusual as he had a new surf board made for him which was delivered to his room on arrival. And you know how it is with new toys. Oh, and California probably has real waves unlike us new jersey folks. Just thought since my son wasn't telling me, what's the weather like there. And the water temp, and the waves. He is going to surf some famous beach there - the wedge - if he has the nerve and also tressels.

AliasGraceO'Malley
LOL. It looks might tame for what he had heard about the wedge. The thing with the wedge for surfers, he was told, is that the waves are a certain height, but that they break into very shallow water. So if you aren't careful you end up wedged into the sand face first.
TalesOfTheSevenSeas
I guess ye'll have to ask yer lad if he got a "wedgie" then?!!! -Claire "Poison Quill" Warren Pyrate Mum of Tales of the Seven Seas www.talesofthesevenseas.com

Rumba Rue
Being from Calif. , the Wedge is located in Huntington Beach, Orange County. Nowhere near San Diego. Hmmmmm, me thinks kids aren't being real good to their parents. RumbaRue **I had it, I swear I had it, ok maybe I didn't...**
AliasGraceO'Malley
There is a one day bus trip planned for which they left very early. Is it feasable that this is where to. I know that one of the older guys specifically told my son he would get him to the wedge. For us east coasters even a 3hr. drive would not be out of line since cali is a rare trip. AliasGraceO'Malley
Ya know, it's not the pacing the floors kinda worried. Ya know he is fine and well. And I have contact numbers if I wished to use them. Just, one of the kids is 1000 miles away worried. He's taken surf trips before, all up and down the east coast.
