I'm a professional novelist, perhaps best known for my series SPQR: historical mysteries set in ancient Rome. But I've also written a great deal of SF, fantasy and contemporary mystery as well, around 50 books in all. I'm now laying the keel for a rip-snortin', blood-in-the-scuppers pirate novel. I've been a lifelong pirate fan and was amazed to find that there are so many of us out there. Haven't picked a pirate moniker yet, but then I already have one of the great pirate names. Looking forward to splicing with you all.

I am a fan of Steven Saylor, and other historical mysteries, including several series based in or on ancient egypt. I am currently working on a historical mystery involving pirates. You will find alot of fellow writers on these boards.
