Gentleman of Fortune
I am so excited about this! That I have to share my luck with the crew here! I have been hunting down 100% silk velvet for some time (check out my links to other ports at my pirate site). Most suppliers of silk claim there "is no such thing as 100% silk". Which, of course, is not true. The problem is that if it exists, its very expensive. This material, when found by a commercial source, is usually about $150 a yard. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...DME:B:EOAB:US:6 Lucky me got it for about $20 a yard including shipping! 14 meters should be enough for a justacorps, waistcoat, breeches and a Mantua! I don't mean to brag... just have an excitment that only folks here can understand! Come aboard my pirate re-enacting site http://www.gentlemenoffortune.com/ Where you will find lots of information on building your authentic Pirate Impression! Gentleman of Fortune
It just came today and its too cool for words! 14 meters x 1.3 meters. Apparently, the person I bought it from was an interior designer in the UK and had a project for a middle eastern shiek about 10 years ago... the price tag on it is 150 pounds sterling which would make it about $300 per yard with todays exchange rate. Hurray! Come aboard my pirate re-enacting site http://www.gentlemenoffortune.com/ Where you will find lots of information on building your authentic Pirate Impression!
