Red Maria Posted June 25, 2004 Posted June 25, 2004 Get aload of this one folks! Let's hope it will not affect POTC 2 & 3 http://www.imdb.com/news/sb/#film1 I think this proves that he is one taco shy of a combo plate. :) Make sure to scroll down.
Cire Posted June 25, 2004 Posted June 25, 2004 Crazy. I am more a fan of Disney's live action than its animation, so "If we are going to invest money on entertainment, I think there are better ways to spend than live action." is quite frankly stupid. Because the world does revolve around me, and the universe is geocentric....
LadyBarbossa Posted June 27, 2004 Posted June 27, 2004 Aye... read that article, too. All I can say... WHAT THE BLEEDIN' HELL IS HE DOIN'?!?!? In my opinion.. the reason why the live action ones that they have been doing.. minus a few of them... are lacking that Disney magic! Look at the ones that Walt put on in the past! Granted, some of them were not blockbusters... you can always make a blockbuster or Academy grade film... what matters is how it grabs your attention... takes you away to that far off place full of adventure & excitement! Just like the old live action films! They had that Disney Magic! I'm sorry... but is a horse racing across a desert ("Hidalgo") magical? It can be IF it was made to be. But.. it's a bloody real life drama that is short of being something magical. & what makes it worse... they can the 2D animation! again.. WHAT THE BLOODY HELL IS HE THINKING! Walt... I'm sure... put a LOT of work into creating these depts & such. & Eisner wants to kill it! ^*(**(&*%^%&@#@$*(*#@(!!!! Darn right I am furious! VERY little Live Action... no decent & true to for 2d Animation... what does he expect Disney to do then? Hmmm? Tempt Fate! an' toss 't all t' Hell!" "I'm completely innocent of whatever crime I've committed." The one, the only,... the infamous!
Sjöröveren Posted June 28, 2004 Posted June 28, 2004 OK, let me get this straight. He's closed down the hand-drawn animation department, severed ties with Pixar and now they're going to stop making live action films. Aren't those the only kinds of films possible? Is there another kind of film that I'm forgetting? Why not just hold a press conference and say "Disney is no longer a film producing company." Then they should, as a symbolic action, kill a goose laying a golden egg. Let's face it folks. Disney is soon to be a company that used to make movies. I'm sure there's lots more money to be made in munitions or plumbing fixtures or baby furniture or something. That's what it's all about, isn't Mr. Eisner? the Fool's Gold Pirates
DocF225 Posted June 28, 2004 Posted June 28, 2004 That sound you're hearing is dear old Walt spinning in his grave like the perverbial top. Eisner is out of his bleedin' gourd Doc Wiseman - Ship's Physician, Stur.. er... Surgeon Extrodinaire and general scoundrel. Iron Bess Posted June 28, 2004 Posted June 28, 2004 Not to fret.... There is no sign of this yet. We just brought in 4 new production deals to work on new projects for us. And yes, POTC 2 and 3 are beyond safe. We are moving director and staff into offices as we speak. Well, you may not realize it but your looking at the remains of what was once a very handsome woman!
Redd Oktober Posted June 28, 2004 Posted June 28, 2004 Well that's good. Eisner should really move on and run Pepsico...at least there his brand of "imagination" would be "useful". YARRR! The Oktober be silent now! Just call me "REDD!"
LadyBarbossa Posted June 28, 2004 Posted June 28, 2004 Rock on, Bess! If you can, tell them "Hi" with a :::wave:: Hopefully, they can get their work done. But... what about the other future projects? I've seen some of the recent Disney labeled films. They just don't seem to have that Disney magic in them. PotC did... I didn't watch "Haunted Mansion"... but still... the older films had that Walt Disney magic. If Eisner can't see that... then hopefully the Shareholders & everyone else does & will. Tempt Fate! an' toss 't all t' Hell!" "I'm completely innocent of whatever crime I've committed." The one, the only,... the infamous!
the Royaliste Posted June 28, 2004 Posted June 28, 2004 Well, methinks it be obvious to anyone wif' one good eye that 'e's got 'is 'ead up 'is arse, butt......I still wish 'e'd put 'is 'ead up 'ere!!..Aye! GRRRReat waddin', says I!!
Redd Oktober Posted June 28, 2004 Posted June 28, 2004 Time ter invite Roy Disney aboard fer a cruise! I'm sure he'd love a couple of shots made of some Eisner 8x10's! YARRR! The Oktober be silent now! Just call me "REDD!"

Black Hearted Pearl Posted June 29, 2004 Posted June 29, 2004 Eisner: 1. Let's get rid of the animation department. Hand drawn animation is the past. Even if Fantasia is considered one of the masterpieces of century. 2. Let's screw over Pixar and loose that connection. Who wants to be fair. Even if Finding Nemo was one of the highest grossing pics of the year. 3. Let's get rid of live action movies. Too costly to make. Even if POTC was one of the highest grossing pics of the year. We can make our own computer animated movies better and cheaper than Pixar. We won't have to pay actors or artists. We can keep all the money for our own salaries and still have a supply of characters to feed our themeparks. What, you say, the theme parks need to be maintained? The cruise line ships need maintenance? I know, cut back on Cast Member training. When is the next big anniversary? We will use that as an excuse to fix it all then. ~Black Hearted Pearl The optimist expects the wind. The pessimist complains about the wind. The realist adjusts the sails.
Red Maria Posted June 29, 2004 Author Posted June 29, 2004 The cheese has slid off that boy's cracker!
Black Hearted Pearl Posted June 29, 2004 Posted June 29, 2004 The cheese has slid off that boy's cracker! It didn't slide of the cracker. Eisner ate the cheese for himself. So the mouse couldn't have it anymore. Eisner is jealous of the mouse. Don't we know, he's the one who made disney...not the mouse. ~Black Hearted Pearl The optimist expects the wind. The pessimist complains about the wind. The realist adjusts the sails.
