Cire Posted June 19, 2004 Posted June 19, 2004 Bess, I take it that be a replica? Thar be lots of them.... Because the world does revolve around me, and the universe is geocentric....
Iron Bess Posted June 19, 2004 Posted June 19, 2004 Bess, I take it that be a replica? Thar be lots of them.... A replica? Of what? The Ship?? Oh, of course. It was rented for the filming. Well, you may not realize it but your looking at the remains of what was once a very handsome woman!
Cire Posted June 19, 2004 Posted June 19, 2004 As far as I am aware, there are at least two Golden Hinde replicas in England, which be why I is saying that there is a lot of them. Obviously the ship you was talking about is a replica, and I was daft and unthinking with me wording. Because the world does revolve around me, and the universe is geocentric....
Captain Scurvy Dog Posted June 24, 2004 Posted June 24, 2004 As is shown in yer avatar, Scurvy Dog? keen eyes ye has... might ye be lookin' fer a berth as "lookout"?
John Maddox Roberts Posted June 27, 2004 Posted June 27, 2004 See the version of "Treasure Island" with Charlton Heston as Long John. It is the most faithful to the book, the running musket fights through the woods are convincing, the music by the Chieftains is wonderfully evocative, and, above all, Heston very wisely doesn't try to outdo Robert Newton's definitive portrayal of Long John in the Disney TI. It's a sterling effort. Plus, Jim Hawkins isn't a dewy-eyed ingenue as in other adaptations. He's a tough little guttersnipe. But, the sailors do eye him with a certain, shall we say, affection.
Mr.Stillgrave Posted June 29, 2004 Posted June 29, 2004 i would have to say treasure island with heston, it was religiously watched when i was a lad
