Coastie04 Posted April 18, 2004 Posted April 18, 2004 Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that one of GHHSA's longboats? Coastie She was bigger and faster when under full sail With a gale on the beam and the seas o'er the rail

Coastie04 Posted April 18, 2004 Posted April 18, 2004 From Ageofsail.com, this must be one of the Grays Harbor Historical Seaport's longboats. They're the same group that runs the Lady Washington. This boat is the Capt. Matt Peasely. I forgot the others' name, but it's shown below. Coastie She was bigger and faster when under full sail With a gale on the beam and the seas o'er the rail

Redd Oktober Posted April 19, 2004 Posted April 19, 2004 Ahoy thar, Thar be some of us that are lookin' ter build a replica longboat. Would anyone please be so kind to inform me as to where be a good place ter find blueprints? Thank ye kindly. -Redd YARRR! The Oktober be silent now! Just call me "REDD!"
Bully MacGraw Posted April 19, 2004 Author Posted April 19, 2004 Hi Red. What size Long Boat. I think a boat like mine needs to be lofted. Wooden boat magazine has plans for smaller boats. THese could be built with marine ply. There are some good stitch and glue plans out there. Good luck Those destined to hang, shall not fear drowning
Redd Oktober Posted April 19, 2004 Posted April 19, 2004 We were thinkin an 18' replica of the longboats used against the Gaspee. They're similar to the same one Captain Bligh was set adrift on by Mr. Christian. YARRR! The Oktober be silent now! Just call me "REDD!"

Coastie04 Posted April 20, 2004 Posted April 20, 2004 Nice, definitely makes me want to take her as a prize Coastie She was bigger and faster when under full sail With a gale on the beam and the seas o'er the rail
Bully MacGraw Posted April 20, 2004 Author Posted April 20, 2004 A prize indeed, Coastee! Damn yer eye! She be me own piratical ladder to success, I started with a pirogue, from her I capture a sloop and I keep climbing till glory or the gallows! I will have the rigging completed by the end of the month. The vessel will be used for two groups. The Bay Privateers is a mid 18th century colonial group. Pretty high standards for clothing BUT a welcoming group of very experienced redactors. She will also be used by a budding 1745 Highland group Those destined to hang, shall not fear drowning
Black Hearted Pearl Posted April 21, 2004 Posted April 21, 2004 She be a beauty. Congratulations on your berth. ~Black Hearted Pearl The optimist expects the wind. The pessimist complains about the wind. The realist adjusts the sails.

Bully MacGraw Posted April 21, 2007 Author Posted April 21, 2007 She is a fine boat. If ye want more photos of her, ye need to be in New Orleans. She's being used for a film staring some guy named Brad Pit Cheers Those destined to hang, shall not fear drowning
Brit.Privateer Posted April 22, 2007 Posted April 22, 2007 Is that a joke or are you serious? Is Brad Pitt doing a historical movie?
William Brand Posted April 22, 2007 Posted April 22, 2007 You own a boat and you won't show us pictures unless we fly to New Orleans. Cruel, lad. Very cruel.
