I gotta ask, did you print this masterpiece in FDM or Resin? (Or sone parts A, some parts B?). I'm currently working through a Caribbean house project (STL from a recent kickstarter), but I'm thinking I might need to tackle one of these next!
Patrick Hand Posted February 20 Author Posted February 20 Michael... I printed it FDM on my Bambu A1 mini... It took some effort (and some files and sandpaper) to remove all of the supporting "nubs". I painted it with Liquitex acrylics and then gave it (and the paper mache sails) a wash of burnt umber oil paint mixed with mineral spirits (let it set for about an hour, and then wipe off some of the sxcess)
Patrick Hand Posted February 20 Author Posted February 20 I finished and posted the 1/56th Scale (28mm) 17th Century Spanish Gun Emplacement, Cannons, Gun Crew, and Gabions. On Thingiverse.... https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6956322 (The .STL files are free to download.)
Patrick Hand Posted February 21 Author Posted February 21 I didn't notice that I had slopped some paint on the Spanish carridge wheele untill I took and posted the picture of it...oops, I'll have to fix that...

Patrick Hand Posted February 21 Author Posted February 21 Next up will be some Pyrates (once I'm done painting them)
michaelsbagley Posted February 21 Posted February 21 Those figures look great.... Amazing job! But still loving that long boat with the sail.
Mary Diamond Posted February 21 Posted February 21 Oh, wow! I love how the gun emplacement came together - you do know I am trying to avoid buying another piece of equipment (i.e. 3d printer)… You are eroding my resolve. Oooh, shiny!
Patrick Hand Posted March 5 Author Posted March 5 (edited) I just posted the first batch of 1/56th scale (28mm) 17th Century Pyrates on Thingiverse (where they are free to download the .STL files so you can print and paint yer own...) I have another batch that I still have to paint and post kinda soon... Edited March 5 by Patrick Hand

michaelsbagley Posted March 5 Posted March 5 Those all look amazing. I love the varied and dynamic poses. Great paint jobs too!
Patrick Hand Posted Friday at 02:35 AM Author Posted Friday at 02:35 AM Wow... I got banned on Redit for posting the 1/56 scale Pyrates, and the mod hasen't returned my message about what rule I violated... (I read the rules and have no idea why I got banned) Oh well; it will all get sorted out... Anyway, there are 57 downloads for the Spanish Gun crew and 31 for the Pyrates on Thingiverse.... Cool
Patrick Hand Posted Friday at 02:38 AM Author Posted Friday at 02:38 AM William: I sculpted a long boat (with sails) and posted it and the link to Thingiverse, it's back on the first page.....
William Brand Posted Friday at 05:39 PM Posted Friday at 05:39 PM Aye, and I couldn't contain my excitement. The fact that true boats are being modeled and added in is such a great detail for gameplay. I'm never a fan of flat representations of boats. A fully realized model is soooo much better, and I look forward to more.
Mary Diamond Posted Saturday at 08:16 PM Posted Saturday at 08:16 PM Everyone is doing such great jobs! I have assembled 12, need to assemble more, hoping to paint soon… I will share as soon as they are painted. Oooh, shiny!
Patrick Hand Posted Sunday at 09:27 PM Author Posted Sunday at 09:27 PM I just up-loaded four more 17th Century Pyrates on Thingiverse... https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6974239https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6974239
