landlubbersanonymous Posted June 21, 2012 Posted June 21, 2012 Hadn't seen this haunting thing posted here before. Charlotte Peters sings about Bartholomew Roberts...
Dread Pyrate Greyhound Posted April 10, 2013 Posted April 10, 2013 very cool! I love the lyrics!! Let every man Know freedom, Kings be damned, And let the Devil sort out the mess afterwards.

Dread Pyrate Greyhound Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 I know. when I was still in high school, I saved all sorts of shanties and videos on my dad's computer in a folder of internet favorites. Too bad it doesn't work like it does on Facebook, with Youtube. Let every man Know freedom, Kings be damned, And let the Devil sort out the mess afterwards.
Coastie04 Posted April 28, 2013 Posted April 28, 2013 Unfortunately, my first (and still one of my favorite) shanty albums was produced in cassette tape only. Unfortunately, my copy has gone missing (either packed in long term storage or purged at one point due to lack of a tape player). Now, I have a friend that would be able to transfer it to a CD or digital format (for personal use and hopefully some posterity). It's hard or impossible to find the tape anymore by the Saint Elmo's Choir, but if anyone knows where I could obtain a copy, I'd be very interested (hey, almost a sentence where I didn't use parenthesis). She was bigger and faster when under full sail With a gale on the beam and the seas o'er the rail
landlubbersanonymous Posted May 18, 2013 Author Posted May 18, 2013 (edited) Don't know how accurate it is, but there's a few references that surface over the Internet stating that today, May 17 (1682) is Roberts birthday. Edited May 18, 2013 by landlubbersanonymous
